Just watched this on USA, and I have to say, one of the better movies with gore out there.

When the Union bombs New York by ship, it's brilliantly chilling.[/spoiler:082aab5700]

DeCaprio's costume towards the end annoyed the hell out of me, though.

Don't see what the big deal is with this flick. Yeah, there's gore and that one-eyed character is pretty cool, but the whole movie somehow... didn't click with me.

Aye, but as far as Hyped-movies go, this was one of the better ones.

The Irish conscripts kind of clicked with me in that " God damnit" kind of way..

I got a movie that can top em all.

The Godfather, greatest movie I have ever watched.

i loved the godfather, it was a classic. The book wasn't so great though. I. In fact, I love Al Pachino movies... like Scarface.

Gangs of Newyork was the ish the first 20 times I saw it. Now I see it again occasionally. It's fallen amongst the ranks of movies like Predator and Robocop, where I'll watch it if I have a six pack of beer or a bottle of vodka.

I got Gangs of New York because (1) the commercials looked real interesting and (2) I heard some people talk about it in a real positive light. I was a little iffy at first but after I watched it, it was pretty good. I was fascinated by Daniel Day Lewis' fake eye and the blood and gore was nice.

I watched it by myself as well. :) I'm a breed of my own in my family.

The movie was decent at best. Cutter was the best character out of all of them, side from Monk tho.

Cutter and Happy Jack were based on real historical gangsters as well.
