Rurouni Kenshin

    So yeah, I recently read Journey's End by omasuoniwabanshi and now have a desire to read some other Rurouni Kenshin fics, preferably Kenshin-centric or Soujiro-centric.

    Before I go sludging through the section myself, anybody got any recs for me? They don't have to be mind-blowing, just readable (like a 3/5 or higher).

    No one-shots.

    You really really don't want to go looking for them on your own as a heads up to anyone who reads this, I made that mistake after I recently watched Samurai X again since I always liked Tomoe a hell of a lot more than Kaoru. About 85% of all of the fics you'll find are Kenshin getting raped by various men, its.........disturbing on so many levels.

    I really liked Ruroni Kenshin...when I was 8.

    That was my first journey into the world of fanfiction. You don't want to go there.

    I liked the following fics:

    Ichiruzuka: It basically bridges the gap between the end of the Meiji Revolution and 1878 i.e. what was Kenshin doing after the war and before he met Kaoru? Not very action heavy, but the locales and people, and Kenshin's backstory in this is pretty interesting.

    Swordsmen    : Kenshin/Highlander. Yup. There are three sequels, but I think the first two of the tetralogy thus far were the best.

    Edge of the Blade    : Basically, Kenshin never really stopped being the Battousai, he just hid it. Rather interesting fic, albeit abandoned. Also, Kenshin/Saitou friendship.
