Just finished the new book of his in this series and I was thoroughly disappointed. There were quite a few things that should have had more time in the book that weren't and several portions that seemed rather moot and were at times outright uninteresting. The plot itself wasn't bad, just not that good of an execution.

It seems the older Valentine becomes, the more shit happens in a row that would have previously been summaries amidst a list of things he had done. Just a rare miss for me in a otherwise stellar series.

P.S. For those of you who talked about giving it a chance and haven't yet, you really should. It's much better as a series than the wikis or any summary or even his own forums and discussions suggest.
