    First thing that put me off on this is that anyone reccing it has to say it gets better after X chapter.

    @BTT has written a much better story in our WbA.

    1/5. I don't like PoTC and this did nothing to make me like it better.

    It's... alright?

    I liked the way that the build up to supernatural and improbable is slow, and how 'the case' as is, cracks slowly and believably (or at least within the expected believability of Sherlock methodology). Watson is slightly blander than expected, and some of the leaps in logic work only because the author inteded them to work without considering if there are other plausible reasons for events.

    It's a self contained story/case, where Sherlock chases legends and rumors of past pirates to find out that at least the title of Pirate Lord (a thing from the movie verse, including the Pirate King) has survived to modern day.

    It does not flow as well as it could, and I was expecting more of Sherlock vs Jack Sparrowish planning (Jack Sparrow appears to improvise along the way, but in the better movies he always seems to figure out an exact, if very convoluted path to escape/success. Having Sherlock decipher the intensions of this mad approach to planning could have been handled better.)
