Long ago, in a galaxy far far away...

-STAR WARS II: A Mafia Variant-

This was conceived to be a spiritual successor to Death Eaters. Essentially, it was devised to alleviate some of the overwhelming popularity of the DE game. Although it will resemble Death Eaters in its core structure, STAR WARS will also have some key differences. New and very different roles will be assigned, making this game an interesting experience.

Currently, STAR WARS II was created to cater for those who have not participating in (less)tinyhunt, and would like to try a more "traditional" mafia variant. Consequently, Sign-Ups will be first awarded to those who are not current alive and playing in lesstinyhunt. We would also prefer if you were at least somewhat familiar with mafia games before playing STAR WARS II, considering that the number of new players made hosting the last game rather difficult at times. Consider trying your hand at #werewolf on the IRC before Signing-Up.

The Town is a planet belonging to the Old Republic, whose democratic rule is threatened by the Sith-influenced Separatists. Consequently, the Separatists will be the equivalent of the Mafia, Death Eaters, and Werewolves. Droids, Jedi Masters, and even Sith Lords will all feature as roles to be played. The game will be set between Episode II and Episode III.

STAR WARS II is designed to be a more enriching and balanced experience than STAR WARS I. Consequently, participation will be more heavily regulated, and we heavily advise that only people who can manage at least three posts over two "Day" phases join this game. Also, some sign-ups places have already been saved for certain people who have already indicated their interest in this game far before its complete inception.

Vesvius will be hosting this game, although I will provide him with the initial set-up.

[Currently, Sign-Ups are open. They will be opened for another TWENTY-TWO HOURS from this post's last edit]

    The Possible Roles:

Not all roles will be used. The number and types of roles assigned will depend on the number of people who sign-up. The more people sign-up, the more roles available.

    THE TOWN/REPUBLIC:

    Civilian (max 5):
Role is similar to Townie or Villager in normal games of Mafia. Civilians have no special abilities. They can vote during the day on who shall be lynched and executed at the firing range.
    Abilities
    None

    Clone Troopers (max: 2):
Role is similar to Mason in normal games of Mafia. As the elite soldiers genetically engineered from the planet Kamino, the Clone Troopers are bound by their military platoons for the Republic and have been aware of one another from birth. They thus possess the ability to communicate with other Clone Troopers. Hence, the troopers are aware of at least one other confirmed pro-Republic citizen.
    Abilities
    - Communication with other Clonetroopers via PMs

    Human Replica Droid (max: 1):
Role is similar to Virgin or Benevolent Old Dame in normal games of Mafia. Created to mimic the physical appearance of a human, the Human Replica Droid (HRD) is a prototype robot designed for the purpose of subterfuge and destruction. The HRD's death, through lynch and State-sanctioned execution, will trigger a self-destruct code which would cripple Separatist activity. Consequently, the Separatists would need to waste a night-phase to recover and re-coordinate. Unlike the other roles, the HRD cannot be role-blocked.
    Abilities
    - If lynched, no one in the town can die during the following night.

    Jedi Healer (max: 1):
Role is similar to Doctor and Psychiatrist in normal games of Mafia. A Jedi Healer is a Force-sensitive individual trained by the Jedi Order to mend and heal wounds. Consequently, Jedi Healers have the unique, Force-oriented ability to target one individual for "protection" during the night phase of the game. Individuals who are being protected by a Healer will survive night-kills. However, Jedi Healers can be role-blocked, thus nullifying their activities for the evening. Healers additionally cannot target themselves for protection. As a manifestation of compassionate Light, the Jedi Healer can also cleanse the Dark Renegade of any anguish or tainting Force powers, returning the Renegade to the Light and turning the person into an ordinary Civilian.
    Abilities
    - Can target one individual each evening, making them invulnerable
    - Can cause the Dark Renegade to turn into a Civilian, if the Healer has targeted the Renegade for protection

Probe Droid (via a Mechanic) (max: 1):
Role is similar to Cop or Investigator in normal games of Mafia. Probe Droids are machines that are specifically designed and programmed to perform reconnaissance duties. Consequently, these Probe Droids possess the power to investigate any of the players. During night phases, the Probes' Mechanic can target a single individual to find out whether that person is guilty or not guilty. The Mechanic can be role-blocked, making the Probe's investigative ability useless for the evening.
    Abilities
    - Can investigate one person each evening to see if he or she is a Separatist
    - Can determine if somebody is the Dark Renegade

    Adjutant (max: 1):
Role is similar to Acolyte in special games of tinyhunt. Adjutants are bionically-altered individuals who are designated to providing technological assistance to computer grids. Consequently, Adjutants find themselves employed to re-circuit the motherboards on Droids and will be aware of the Mechanics who program the systems.
    Abilities
    - Is Informed of the Mechanic's identity

    Handmaiden (max: 1):
Role is similar to Bulletproof in normal games of Mafia. Trained on Naboo by the Order of the Sanctuary, Handmaidens are deceptively powerful warriors who are often employed as personal aides and bodyguards to royal personalities. These women are especially talented at disguise, making them adept at playing the role of a decoy. Their ability to play decoy will allow them to feign death to any assailant, fooling any who attempt to perform a night-kill. However, a Handmaiden should recognise that her ruse would not succeed twice. In fact, the Handmaiden's survival might be rather public and subject to scrutiny.
    Abilities
    - Can survive night-kills (Limited to one shot)
    - Can be role-blocked

    CSF Coroner (max: 1):
Role is similar to Coroner or Mortician in normal games of Mafia. CSF Coroners are agents trained under the Coruscant Security Forces (CSF) in the forensic sciences. As microbiology analysts, these Coroners can decipher blood samples to determine the true nature of a dead body, even if the body itself has gone missing. The sophisticated equipment used to obtain this data at the laboratory offers only limited access, however. After one use, the CSF Coroner would need to wait another month before he/she is allowed further clearance.
    Abilities
    - Can investigate one dead player during the night and identify their role (Limited to one shot)
    - Can be role-blocked

    Jedi Seer (max: 1):
Role is similar to Sensor in normal games of Mafia. As a Jedi Knight who has trained in the Light ways of the Force, the Jedi Seer possesses the gift of clairvoyance and far-sight. Thus, the Seer could use this prescience to ascertain the presence of Separatists and even the Force-cloaked Siths. During night-phases, Seers have the choice to divine the Force and detect how many Separatists were involved in the lynch of the previous day. However, these Force powers cannot be easily summoned by will and thus are not to be exercised on consecutive nights.
    Abilities
    - Can detect how many Separatists were on the lynch bandwagon on the previous day
    - Can be role-blocked
    - Cannot use their abilities over consecutive days

    HoloNet Technician (max: 1):
Role is similar to Watcher and Courier in normal games of Mafia. Technicians regulate the HoloNet, which is the fulcrum of all interstellar communications. Through a manipulation of the pertinent holograms and holocams, a Technician can guard another person's abode and determine the presence of any visitors. Moreover, Technicians possess the ability to send anonymous messages through the HoloNet itself. However, this move can be very risky, limiting its possible usage.
    Abilities
    - Can target a player at Night and learn who, if anybody, had targeted the player during the same night
    - Can send an anonymous message to another player at Night (Limited to one shot)
    - Can be role-blocked

    Galactic Senator (max: 1):
Role is similar to Vengeful Townie in normal games of Mafia. Galactic Senators are the chief representatives of the Galactic Republic who frequently adjoin to determine policies and fate of the galaxy. Consequently, Senators possess multifarious connections to the Galactic hierarchy, which they can utilise to arrange for the public execution of one person. However, they will choose to be non-violent and will often only use this power if they suspect that their death is imminent.
    Abilities
    - Upon death, can target one player to be killed simultaneously with the Senator
    - Cannot be role-blocked

    Jedi Master (max: 1):
Role is similar to Bus Driver or Driver in normal games of Mafia. Jedi Masters are individuals who have honed their Force abilities to extreme heights and precision. Using their Light-oriented powers, a Jedi Master can disrupt the minds and thoughts of those around him/her. During night phases, the Jedi Master can target two people at night. Because of the Jedi Master's telepathic interference, any actions done on those two people at night will be swapped. For example, if Player A and Player B are chosen, and the Probe investigated Player A, the Probe will instead receive a report on Player B. The Jedi Master can be role-blocked, making the Master's ability to cause interference useless for the evening.
    Abilities
    - Can cause any actions performed on any two people to become swapped at night

    THE SEPARATIST CONFEDERACY:

    Separatist:
Role is similar to Mafioso in normal games of Mafia. The Separatists' primary goal is to overthrow the current Republican regime and install a new organisation of seceded star-systems. They can communicate with other Separatists and are able to vote on a single person to kill each night.
    Abilities
    - Communication with other Separatists via PMs
    - Can vote to target a person to be killed during night phase

    Sith Lord (max: 1):
Role is similar to Godfather in normal games of Mafia. Powerful in the way of the Force's Dark Side, the Sith Lord is the true puppeteer of this galactic conflict is the strongest Separatist role. If targeted for investigation during the night, the Sith Lord will appear to be a Civilian. If consensus on who to kill cannot be reached by the other Separatist, the Sith Lord can step in at the last moment (see rules) to determine a target. The Sith Lord's manipulations of the Force will also enable prescience, providing visions concerning the Separatists' danger of being discovered.
    Abilities
    - Communication with other Separatists via PMs
    - Will appear as Civilian when investigated by Probe
    - Cannot be killed in the night
    - Can vote to target a person to be killed during night phase
    - Can be informed of the Probe's investigation target through Force visions
    - Can determine which person to target for kill if no consensus reached

    Sith Apprentice (max: 1):
Role is similar to Godfather Junior or Mafia Heir in normal games of Mafia. The Sith Apprentice is a Dark-oriented warrior who has been the Sith Lord's pupil in the Force. Consequently, the Sith Apprentice can mimic his/her Master's ability and appear to be a Civilian, if targeted for investigation during the night. However, the Sith Apprentice isn't completely skilled in these Cloaking powers, and will appear as a Separatist in subsequent investigations.
    Abilities
    - Communication with other Separatist via PMs
    - Will appear as Civilian when investigated by Probe for the first time. Subsequent investigations on the Sith Apprentice will be successful, though
    - Can vote to target a person to be killed during night phase

    Twi'lek Slave-girl or Falleen Slave-boy (max: 1):
Role is similar to Consort in normal games of Mafia. Heralding from extremely attractive races, the Slave-girl or Slave-boy is a beautiful individual who lures and mesmerises others. As such, the Slave-girl and Slave-boy operate for the Separatists as role-blockers. They can target one individual each night and use their sensuous appeal to prevent the target from using any abilities. Additionally, the Slave-girl or Slave-boy can communicate with other Separatists and vote on a single person each evening to be disposed of.
    Abilities
    - Communication with other Separatists via PMs
    - Can target one individual each evening, preventing them from using any of their abilities
    - Can vote to target a person to be killed during night phase

Medical Droid (via a Surgeon) (max: 1):
Role is similar to Janitor in normal games of Mafia. GH-7 Medical Droids are machines used in hospitals to examine and analyse injuries. Using the Medical Droids' strategic access to corpses and bodies, certain Separatist-sympathising Surgeons can re-program the Droids to surreptitiously arrange for the destruction of incriminating evidence. More specifically, the Surgeon can choose one person at night and if that person dies, only the Surgeon and his/her Medical Droid will know the victim's role. The town would be simply informed that the body has been "cleaned up". The Medical Droid can only use this ability to "clean up" three times.
    Abilities
    - Communication with other Separatists via PMs
    - Can prevent the town from learning the role of one victim upon the victim's night-time death (limited to three shots; cannot be used on Night 1)
    - Can vote to target a person to be killed during night phase

C-3PX Assassin Droid (via an Assassin) (max: 1):
Role is similar to Mafia Serial Killer in normal games of mafia. Manufactured by the Confederacy with assassination in mind, the C-3PX Droids are killing machines equip with diverse utilities which can cause death. The assassins who control these Assassin Droids can slip past the Republic's defenses and kill another person, in addition to the Confederacy's night-kill. The expensive toxins stored in these Droids can also be too lethal for the Jedi Healer to neutralise. However, the Droids are not infallible, and their ability to additionally kill is limited.
    Abilities
    - Communication with other Separatists via PMs
    - Can choose to kill one more person, in addition to the Separatists' night-kill. (Limited to two shots; cannot be used on Night 1 and Night 2)
    - Can vote to target a person to be killed during night phase
    - Can "pierce" through the Jedi Healer's protection

ASN Utility Droid (via a Courier) (max: 1):
Role is similar to Mafia Ninja and Desperado in normal games of mafia. Illegally altered from the ASN's Courier Droids, the Utility Droids are petite machines whose are famed for their hacking abilities. Specifically, the Droids are famous for using the HoloNet to secretly determine the next person up for execution. However, the HoloNet's defense programs would disintegrate the Utility Droid's circuits after the hacking. The Separatists also coated these Droids using an extremely rare serum genetically engineered from the blood of the Force-resistant Ysalamiri. Consequently, some Jedi cannot detect the presence of these nifty Droids.
    Abilities
    - Communication with other Separatists via PMs
    - Can supersede the abilities of the Jedi Seer, appearing to the Seer to be an ordinary Civilian
    - Can choose to kill himself/herself during the night to determine the lynch target for the next day
    - Can vote to target a person to be killed during night phase

    THIRD PARTY:

    Dark Renegade (max: 1):
Role is similar to Serial Killer and Alien in normal games of Mafia. The Dark Renegade is a fallen Jedi or a Darksider who flirts with the line of the Light, such as Revan or the future Starkiller. The Renegade has no allegiance to either the Republic and its Jedi or the Separatists, who have been coloured by the Sith. The Renegade will win if all surviving members of the town (including any Separatists) have been "tainted" by the Renegade's Force abilities. Through these mind-taints, the Renegade will then wrest control of the targets' minds and seize control of both factions.
    Abilities
    - Can choose to visit a target and "taint" the player's mind. (The taint itself will have no side-effects on the subject)
    - Can choose to kill one person every night (cannot kill on Night 1)
    - Can be role-blocked
    - Cannot be night-killed
    - Cannot choose to taint and kill on the same night. Moreover, the Renegade cannot use the same ability over consecutive nights
    - Will lose all Renegade abilities and become an ordinary Civilian if targeted by the Jedi Healer
