Agreed. I've been following this one on Rorschach Blot's yahoo group for a little while. An interesting idea, treated very light-hearted and fun. Entertaining even in the moments it's less than excellent. Recommended. (Though I've not read it since it was posted on ficwad... I know a few chapters were combined and maybe slightly edited.)

I've been following it at Rorsch's group too. Basic idea is pretty stupid, but it's written so well, in a funny and relaxed sort of way, that I didn't mind it too much. BTW I think there are few more chapters at his group, if you can't wait for a proper update...

I think now that the fic has a more permanent home, ficwad's all caught up and where the new chapters are headed. (I think 14 "parts" on Senor Blot's group = 10 chapters on ficwad.) But now that the author has graced us with his not her presence, I'm guessing he can tell us better.

hmm..its just like most other fics..some parts are great..some parts are crap...the trick is to get the ratio correct:}

some stories raved about I found bleh..and some people canned I loved..so different folks different strokes ( I like long slow ones myself)

First of all, this is constructive and I mean no offence. :)

Well, part of it was the casual disregard gene splicing was treated with. As of now, gene splicing is done on eggs unborn, and even then is done very precisely. I'm rather scientific in nature, and I usually nitpick these kinds of things. Also, the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) is the United States. It'd be the British Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency. Being a humor fic, this can be passed off, it just seemed so abrupt and anticlimatic when he did get spliced.

The other part was the fic felt somewhat rushed as well. Just *bang* next topic. That was sort of the situation with the girls as well. He seems to be picking them up like I do programming languages.

I like it, can't wait for more chapters. It's almost a humor-based Independant!Harry. I like how he takes charge and locks the Death Eaters up in the Chamber of Secrets. Like the pairing as well, FD/HP/NT has some nice possibilities especially with the gene-splicing.

Some of the ficwad version is a little confusing or abrupt. The version on the Yahoo group is slightly different and in places makes a bit more sense. For instance the scene where Harry confronts Dumbledore about his keys has the same beginning and end, but the middle is completely different and Sirius and Snapes actions make much more sense in the Yahoo version.

I like your potrayal of Harry. The sarcasm and wit is well put together and you got the Twins jsut right too. Loved the scene with the Polyjuice.

It's not exaclty brilliant, compared with the rest of the fic, but I'm hoping the next chapter will be better.

Don't know if you still look at this thread now and then, but I really liked your story, Cypher3au. Yeah, the idea wasn't the best and could've been better executed, but it's a light-hearted and humorous independent!Harry fic and a good read.

Pacing was just right and I liked Harry being confident enough to flirt without being all macho. I loved the Harry/Fleur/Tonks, because I could see it becoming one of the few well done multis.
On the other hand, I groaned when I read that you wanted to make it a Harry/Harem fic. Give Harry two women if you want and can pull it off (what you can) but a harem destroys everything because the relationships just get worthless. Only exception is a well done 100% parody, but your fic isn't parody enough for that kind of thing.
Flirting with every good looking woman is okay as some kind of friendly banter like Harry did with Hermione in Ch8. Fucking every good looking woman is also okay as long as it fits (Black Comedy) but having a relationship with every good looking woman is stupid.
It would've been better to keep him a women's man and flirty but actually let him stick to Fleur and Tonks and put a little more romance in. That would've been awesome.

Well, good story with the exception of the points made above.
4/5 for entertaining me and keeping me from having to write my diploma thesis.
