Basically, it's a Prototype fic following Alex Mercer/Zeus after the events of the first game. It's at four chapters now and the writing is good, and the author has been kind enough to update the first post with chapter links for those who don't want to slog through Spacebattles posts.

The author is experimenting with a three scene per chapter style in the latest chapters, with one being set in the present, another from the events of the first game, and a third being from a third perspective (Captain Cross - who is alive and not the Supreme Hunter - being one of them).

The first three chapters were pretty light on plot, but they established the characters, and the fourth chapter showed us exactly where the plot is going to go. Nothing else so far, but the author updates fairly quickly and seems to have a good plan of what he's doing in this fic. It also lays out just how alien Alex/Zeus is to humans, to the point where he is actually quite proud of his beating people to death and eating absorbing them.

4/5 because while it's a very good fic (and the only Prototype one I've read that's actually decent), it's just missing the little spark that would make it a great fic.

Wow. Spacebattles is really starting to get shittier and shittier as a consequence of the amount of traffic they're getting. First the search function and now this?

 

To be fair, we also force people to register in order to see the WbA forums. What difference is there in us hiding the WbA section and them requiring blanket registration?

Largely the fact that they've been forced to do it, not because they thought it was a good idea but because they really need to switch to new servers.
