I like "dark" stories. (You don't? What are doing on this site then? ;) ) But lately Hollywood is doing everything in its power to take any "darkness" in films to the point of the completely ridiculousness. I mean, these are just three news from the last few days about upcoming movies:
    - Johnny 5 from Short Circuit is remade as more threatening,
    - Man of Steel will have a edgy Dark Knight feel,
    - dark and gritty (in a way :p ) reboot of Sabrina the Teenage Witch.

Well, questionable remakes aside, I've gotten to the point where hearing about another "edgy" take on almost any story is killing my entire interested in the project.

Not to mention that studios unwillingness to actually make something really dark (because of, you know, money and no offense to Mr. Scott here) gives a pretty funny image of today's Hollywood.
