You know, I had some good will towards the man for giving us the Underworld series, but between this news and the Total Recall movie, I'm not feeling much in the way of love right now:

Now that's just lame. The remake, that is.

Well, at least this time it actually makes sense to remake it more dark, since its roots are in a horror genre. But at the same time what I really liked about the previous version was the fact that it was a pure adventure story.

Great, more shitty fanfiction. Haven't seen enough of that recently.

I'm actually kind of excited. I only really enjoyed the first movie, never even bothered to watch the third.

But I'm in love with Egyptian mythology, so this is right around shit to look forward to.

Don't see anything to be upset about, really. The original films aren't going anywhere. By all appearances, this reboot will be almost an entirely different film. They're just reusing the name and franchise to gain viewers for free.

Underworld sucked, let's not kid ourselves. I only watched the first one and saw no reason to subject myself to the sequels. Like the shitty Resident Evil franchise, Underworld is nothing more than special effects and/or slo-mo porn. Do not want.

What? I liked the first two underworld movies. The third one bit ass though.

Well, it's going to have to put some serious work in to be worse than the third one, so that's something.

To be entirely honest, I don't think I enjoyed any of the Mummy films. There were good moments, but never anything that struck me as "great".

Let's hope Jackie Chan is in this one. It will atleast ensure some lulz.

But srs guys... The first 2 weren't bad, the less said about the 3rd the better, and there is definite scope for a remake to be fricking awesome with new FX etc. I'm actually a little excite.

The Mummy and The Mummy Returns are two of my favourite childhood films. Any reboot I watch will be coloured by my memories of the originals, so I'm not too enthusiastic about this. Plus, I agree with Portus, Underworld sucked as anything but a chance to see Kate Beckinsale in tight leather outfits.

I'm sorry, was there a point in what you were saying? Why else would you watch any of them? I saw the fourth last weekend. She looks just as good as in the first. It was definitely worth the buck and a half I paid to rent it.

That character always struck me as someone who could easily be an ancestor of Hermione's.

Which almost certainly has or will soon become part of the plot of some bad crossover fic.
