I just found out the other day that Neil Gaiman's American Gods is going to be made into a show, on HBO nonetheless.

There is currently little to be said, but more information will be trickling in over the next few months, so I thought I'd throw up this thread now.

What we know:

They are planning on there being six seasons.
The first two seasons will consist of the book, and the latter ones will cover the upcoming sequel. (which will have more of a focus on the New Gods)
Each season will have ten to twelve episodes, each an hour long.
Each episode will have $3-4 million allotted to it. (yay special effects)
It could air as soon as late this year.

Man this is exciting. Shadow is far from exciting though, which means that casting him will be critical. I didn't even know there was a sequel in the works.

Colour me cautiously optimistic.

 

Mr. Key needs a particularly good guy for the flashbacks. Some sort of big tough prison guy, in contrast to the typical thin pretty-boy smart prisoner.
