Hello,

I just watched the whole first season of Weeds from Showtime, and I have to say, its better than I expected. Have any of you watched and enjoyed this cable show? I would love to have some discussion about it.

Now that Season Two is coming out in a month or so, I was wondering if anyone was getting ready to watch it besides me here.

 

Okay, well, it seems this show has gotten no interest in this forums, but in case anyone is watching it behind the scenes, I would just like to point out that season two premieres on the 14th at 10pm, on a showtime channel(not sure which one.)

I figured that I would be more specific with what this show is about.

This show is about Nancy Botwin and her two kids. Her husband has just died from a heartattack and they have no money saved, so she quickly has to find a way to make money. On advice from her low life brother in law, she goes and sells weed behind the scenes.

I was hesitant at first watching this show, for I have never found a show on Showtime or HBO that I had liked, but my family and I are now all watching the show and greatly enjoy it, for it is hilarious, and even realistic.

I hope a couple of you will give it a shot past the first couple of scenes.

I stopped watching after finishing season 5 some two years ago, since it started getting boring and Nancy became a gigantic cunt.

Are seasons six & seven really worth watching?

 

Erm. I thought last season was alright. Didn't like the one before that all that much. The show isn't what it used to be, but it's still good enough to kill 30 minutes of my time once a week.

 

I stopped enjoying the show after.... season 4 methinks. It just wasn't funny or particularly interesting. I watched out of obligation but season 6 was terribad. There was literally nothing there, apart from Shane it wasn't memorable at all. There was literally nothing there. And Nancy started to piss me off.

I generally wait till the end of the season and watch in one big blast, because I can't stand waiting a week for an episode that just runs in place.

 

eh it seems like a combo of desperate housewives and Breaking Bad..... I'll stick to Breaking Bad

I got into this show when it first started but lost it after the 2nd season when i moved and lost my digital cable package. I have since caught up on it after seeing the On Demand commercials and realizing that i can view them all online. And after being able to watch episodes back to back straight through I can say without a doubt that seasons 4 and beyond are far below the quality of the first three seasons. Honestly the whole Esteban arc really annoyed the crap out of me. And I also hated the fact that she was no longer dealing until the 7th season and even then it was only hash. I mean sure they involved weed through the kids and doug but seriously, the whole show is about her dealing and trying to support her family. Not being some housewife to a Mexican governor. And typical season ending with a cliffhanger and we don't know if anything's going to come of it because they haven't ordered an 8th season yet.

One of the few good qualities about the show is the runtime. I know it sounds crazy but with a show like that having a 30 minute runtime makes it a lot easier to deal with and the plot lines are more direct. And Mary Louise Parker will always be a MILF. It is what she named the strain after all lol.
