I remember reading a fic where Harry had allied with Draco and Neville to learn dark magic and take the fight to the Dark Lord. Though I can't remember the name of it. Any hints?

Not sure if this is the one you're thinking of:

    Fallen by lessthanlucid
It's got Harry, Draco, Neville, Blaise, Luna all as political heads of their families. Bill Weasley too. A real nice attack on the Hogwarts Express with Harry, Draco, and Neville tossing dark magic all around. I suspect were it not abandoned many people here would love the fic as much I do.

Except for the minor slash. (Hasn't overtly gotten there yet-not too much at least, but author's stated from the start it was going to be.)

There is also The Black Ascension by Omnis Potens. That one has them all part of this thing called The Guild and Harry is Heir to the Black family and owns a Grim. Pretty interesting even if it isn't exactly what you were looking for.

I remember reading Fallen. It was very good and since I was too absorbed with the story I never read the AN´s. The slash hit me out of nowhere :(. I stopped reading then but apart from the slash, the story totally kicks ass.

I have read The Black Ascension but I haven't gotten to Fallen yet. It's currently on my To-Read List though. As for The Black Ascension, it was pretty good! I enjoyed it.

When I started reading Fallen so did I remember that I had read it before and it was still very good. To bad that it is abandoned.

Actually, I don't think Fallen is abandoned. True it has been close to a year and a half since an update. But the author's other fic on ff.net was updated a little over three months ago with this note at the bottom:

So it could have an update one of these days.

Dark, aristocrat stories have been runied by people somehow introducing Ginny into the story, i have seen many examples of that, they ruined the experience.

Yeah, throwing Ginslut in makes no sense and just ruins the entire thing for me
