Musings on a life oddly lived by Honorable Slytherin + Christy3k - PG13

Discussion in 'Almost Recommended' started by Honorable Slytherin, Sep 9, 2006.

  1. Title: Musings on a life oddly lived
    Author: Honorable Slytherin and Christy3k
    Rating: PG 13
    Genre: Comedy
Pairing: Everyone gets with everyone in this one.
Summary: What would it be like if the HP characters found out about their fan fiction? Yes, it's been done before, but there's a twist at the end that's original.

Funny, I have to say, if you can get past the missing letters that used to be paired with apostrophes.

  3. Thanks. Anyone else having problems viewing the site?

By the way, I recant earlier statements on another thread about smileys. Until I came to this site, I had no idea they could be so delightfully evil.

Why don't you post them at Fanfiction.net?

  5. Is that requried? I already have a sight I'm starting, so I figured I'd just post from there, if it's ok. Is that a problem? Not trying to compete with the other sites (lol, like I could). Just wanted to see what I could come up with.

No it's not required as far as DLP goes...

It's just that posting at FFN is a must for any author who'd like to present his or hers work to the widest audience possible. Like it or not, if you want more then 10 reviews per chapter, you'll have to deal with them.

  7. Thanks. I'll check them out.

Eh. This plot has been done a few times, and I've never really liked it. I didn't really think this was very funny. Kinda corny at the end. But it's alright, I suppose.

I thought it was rather amusing. Good for a quick laugh, but too short to be interesting. 3/5.

I thought it was mildly humorous. But essentially a 700 word drabble on an idea I've seen before. Something that short makes for a few minutes of thought and then moving on unless it's remarkable. It's closer to an idea than a story.

    Cute. Not really a fic.

Posting it at ff.net would just make it's brevity stand out more (when people can compare the amount of scrolling required). It's slightly harder on the eyes to read this particular formatting (thin white letters on a mid-tone dark blue - smaller font than even this forum's default). You're trading blank simplicity for aesthetically pleasing, which is fine if that's what you want to do. But you may not get as much feedback as on an established fanfiction site with a thorough review system set-up.

Won't load for me, what the hell?

    Edit: Got it.

Funny moments, but you had to fuck up the ending with a Snape/Hermione reference, bastard :p

Amusing at times, but the Snape/Hermione reference had me gagging.

I honestly laughed more at Amerision's comment. I do admit, however, that a few of the things made me smile.
