    Title: The Most Horrible Thing
    Author: cuddlebearlove
    Genre: General/Humor
    Rating: M
    Status: series of short one-shots
Pairings: see below - several hints on various pairings - the last two with SLASH pairings
    Suggested category: Humor/Parody
Summary: Fourteen year old Harry needs ‘The talk’. It is a series of related one-shots with one or more teachers or adults per story try to explain ... well ... you know ... the bees ... and the flowers ... and the resulting flower-bees ...

Don’t stop after the first one. It’s the lamest but some others are really funny. My problem: I read all shots in one go last night and the idea became boring after a while. I think 4/5

The idea is good, but execution pretty plain and boring.

Well, it's the same joke retold over and over again. If you read all in one go it really is boring.

I recommend: Snape, McGonagall, MadEye, and The Malfoys

EDIT: Keep in mind that the letter at the start of the last one is a fake to annoy Draco and his parents ...

Even though it is the same joke repeated, I liked it. I especially like the way he refuses to endure it alone. McGonagall and the Malfoys were the best. 4/5

I'd like it too... In a way I hoped somebody (Flitwick?) would explain to the trio the dangers of a threesome... but the other explanations were very funny too.

    4.5/5

because some chapters were a bit lame...

They were qutie funny, read them some time ago. They weren't brilliantly funny but good for a laugh.

Sorry, but this story is just boring, really - a cute idea at first, but the slash overtones turn me off a bit, and second of all, it's written so cleanly, it's just not that funny. I'm afraid this gets my lowest "good" rating: 2/5

Yes, it was "awkward", but not nearly as much as it could have been.

    DLPer's "the toughest unpaid critics"

I spent the last year of college studying survey design. What is a good survey, what is a leading question, how do you cover bias. One of the best answers was standards. Concepts that are universally accepted.
I'm going out on a limb here, but in america the concept of parents giving/children getting "the talk" is used often in tv for comedy.
It is a comedy standard. It is humiliating, but not terribly so, it is easy to relate to, and it is always better that somebody else has to do it.

Rather than give this a number I think this series should be a standard.
It has the magic spinal tap 11, so the rating system would (the tmht scale)
    tmht1,tmht2...tmht11.
A quick and easy way to compare one comedy story from another, or rate chapters (tmht11 is the best rating, I think the latest chapter of "so sue me"
was a tmht8 and the most recent "hunt for harry potter" tmht4.)
