This thread is to see what kind of creative spells you can come up with from purely your imagination. From funny charms to deadly spells that spells doom, what can you think of?

Spell Effect - "Dark Flame" produces a small dark flame from the tip of the wand. The dark flame, when hit, will give a devastating blow to the person. He will die a slow burning death that will never stop from mundane or regular spells. Once hit, it will burn for seven days and seven nights.

School - Dark type

Spell Class - A Class

Range - Up to a radius of 25 meters, depending on the level of the mage.

Casting Time - 1 sec.

Duration - n/a

Counter Measures/Enhancing Measures - The effect of the spell can be countered by an equal defensive light barrier.

Spell Effect: Projects a Medium size shield about a meter from the wand. Expands in 2 meters in both directions, curves slightly at the edges. Expands upward and downward 3 ft if wand is at a 90 degree angle from the body.
School: Protection Type*

Spell Class- B Class

Range: 1-1.5 meters depending on energy used to cast

Casting Time: 1 sec

Duration- Infinite until mage stops feeding energy into shield or shield is overloaded by other spells.

Counter Measures/Enhancing Measures: Either flank the mage in question or overload the shield with your own spells.

Other Notes: Is to be primarily used as a personal shield however it can be used in formation with other mages to form an overlapping shield wall. Can also mimic the "testudo" formation of Roman Legionaries.

Countered by; Patronus (counterspell) or Spherical Physical Shield (prevents it from taking shape).
Casting time; 2-3 seconds
Description; By summoning up the casters memories of pain and torment, he can give them physical form. The more painful the memories that fuel it, the more effective it gets. When properly cast (the wand movement is the same as for the Patronus but in reverse, the incantation "Expecto Curam") a large "Iron Maiden" is formed out of super magnetic metal around the target. The Iron Maiden is shaped inside to it the victim exactly, except for the inclusion of several sharp spikes centered in sensitive areas. If their reflexes are even a split second too slow (better get moving before it's half formed) it will slam together and the magnetism will take several minutes to wear off. The spike pattern of each person's Iron Slut will be unique and the scars often show something personal about the creator (even if it is just "man this guy got off on causing pain").

Since it is literally pain and misery made manifest, a patronus (happiness and joy made manifest) can be used to counter the formation if cast in time. Likewise if a shield can be erected to prevent the two sides coming together that lasts long enough to end the magnetism, the damage will obviously be avoided.

Spell: Decree of Annihilation (from Wizards of the Coast's "Magic the Gathering")
Incantation: Aeris Perditio
School: Eradication
Spell Class: S-Class Cataclysmic
Casting Time: Varies depending on the wizards' skill.
Description: The Decree of Annihilation is a spell developed by an Archmage-Level wizard with a penchant for destruction. It burns the magical core of any magical being or artifact causing said being or artifact to immolate. Although it's potential for destruction is limitless, it requires vast knowledge, skill and power and can only be cast by wizards that are of Archmage-Level or higher.
Duration: It will continue to immolate its target until the magical core is depleted.
Counter: As of the present, no wizard has been foolish enough to willingly let another wizard cast the Decree of Annihilation on him/her.

Hmm... interesting. I guess I might as well add something to this thread.

Based on one of Rider's abilities in Fate/Stay Night:

Blood Fort - Outer Seal

Spell Effect - A magical ward, held up by several runes placed around strategic locations around whatever is being protected, that dissolves anyone who enters it, provided their magical signature hasn't being keyed to the ward, into a slurry of blood and organic ooze. Its only real drawback is the fact that the runes that hold it up cannot be placed inside the ward's protective field.

School - Dark Arts/Warding Magic

Spell Class - A+

Range - It depends on the power placed into the ward. An average wizard might be able to cover a room with it. Several wizards might be able to cover a house. Several powerful wizards might be able to cover a castle.

Casting Time - Three minutes to cast, anywhere between a few hours to several days to set up the runes required for casting.

Duration - The spell will last depending on how much power is placed into it. An average ward cast by a single wizard will last a few days, while one cast by several powerful ones might last for weeks before requiring renewal.

Counter Measures/Enhancing Measures - There are two ways to break through the ward: the first is to use blunt power to break it, an impractical action given the fact that it will leave the wizard or wizards who do it drained of energy, even if they do manage to break through. An alternative would be to individually seek out and destroy the runes maintaning the force field, but properly cast ward runes are hard to detect, and the enemy might notice your presence if it takes you and your allies too long to destroy the runes.

An alternative would be to simply slip through the ward by casting a shield that negates the ward's destructive effects on each wizard assaulting whatever site is being protected by it. Unfortunately, each shield would have to be of equal or greater strenght when compared to the ward that is being penetrated, which is something incredibly hard to accomplish, especially when dealing with groups of people, given the fact that, since the shielded individuals will be required to move, runes cannot be used to assist in holding the shield up. Thus, only a very powerful wizard could fit the power of a ward into an individual shield, and even then he would feel drained.

Spell Effect - Cause a, upto, 150 ton blue whale to drop from the sky onto the target area.

School - Conjuring

Spell Class - A Class

Range - Upto 100ft long and 20ft wide, depending on the power of the caster. Range from caster is upto 50ft.

Casting Time - 1/2 second.

Duration - 30 seconds for the whale to hit the ground.

Counter Measures/Enhancing Measures - Apparating away from the area before the whale hits.

NOTE: For best effect cast a confundus charm on the target (if applicable) to avoid them noticing the growing shadow. Anti-apparition charms are also advisable, though a fast means of transport would be useful.

NOTE 2: Make sure to not cast spell in vision of animal welfare protestors, or at least make sure they are caught in the AoE.

Spell Effect - light Saber. Conjurs a jedi saber from the wand. It would be at least one meter. Acts just like a light saber

Fire Rush

Spell Effect - "fire rush" produces a large protective barrier of fire and magic completly surrounding the user, in a protective stage that can stop from B class spells and lower.

With the second stange, the user can effect another part of the spell. The protective barrier of fire and magic would spit out hundreds of fire bullets everywhere.

School - Element Fire type

Spell Class - B Class

Range - Up to a radius of 25 meters around the user. The user can make the fire bullets or the protective barrier stronger, depending on the level of the wizard.

Casting Time - 3 sec.

Duration - depends on the user

Counter Measures/Enhancing Measures - Powerful water barrier or a powerful shield that can protect the fire bullets.

Effect: Instantaneous transportation of target to a target location, distance contingent upon the caster's magical power.

School: Non-elemental

Spell Class: Upper B - Middle A class

Range: Contingent upon caster

Casting Time: Contingent upon caster

Note: This spell is impossible for any caster without a mastery of wordless magic. It requires the caster to mentally imagine the target's current location, the desired location, and then focus upon warping space-time to move it from one place to another. Some casters may take more time to conjur the necessary mental images, thus the casting time difference. With such intense mental imagery needed, any caster incapable of casting wordless magic would be utterly unable to muster the foces needed for this spell.

Spell Effects: Causes anywhere from 2 to 30 small lightning bolts to arc from the wand at targets defined by the caster (if untargeted they hit randomly), where they then arc to another nearby target, losing a small amount of power each time, a master of the spell would lose around 6-7%, while a novice would lose around 20-25%. An arch-mage level wizard could send out 30 small bolts, 15 medium bolts, or 5 large bolts, all of which would last for around 15-20 hits each.

School - Grey
Legality - Banned
Spell Class - S
Range - The lightning bolts lose 1% power ever 2 meters they travel.
Casting Time - 4-5 seconds
Duration - n/a
Counter Measures - A physical shield will deflect it to another target, a magical shield will drain its power.
Tactical Uses - Taking down large numbers of unsuspecting enemies, or as a distraction.

Spell Effects: Uses Necromantic Magic to drain everything in front of the caster of energy, after an amount of time determined by the caster this energy will release in a large nova of freezing cold, followed by a huge flaming explosion. The drained energy mostly goes into increasing the intensity of the frostfire, rather than Area of Effect.
School - Black
Legality - Banned
Spell Class - A
Range - 10 meter sphere 15-45 meters away from the caster.
Area of Effect - The Drain effects everything within the sphere, the frostfire effect hits a 15-25 meter area.
Casting Time - 1.5-2 seconds
Duration - 3-10 seconds
Counter Measures - Being more powerful than the caster will allow you to overpower the Drain effect, a physical shield half as powerful as the combined absorbed magical power will completely shield the frostfire's effects.
Tactical Uses - Destroying large groups of weak enemies.

Spell Effects: Causes a burst of holy flame to erupt from below target area.
School - Light
Legality - Legal during war
Spell Class - S
Range - 10 meters
Area of Effect - 3-5 meters
Casting Time - 1.5-2 seconds
Counter Measures - Use a Light-sided magical shield, or create a powerful disk-shaped-shield under you, and it'll propel you into the air.
Tactical Uses - Destroying Dark Creatures, is exceptionally effective against any form of Undead.

Profundum Aequus Aliquantus Tria Exignis
Spell Effects: Creates a three layered shield of super hot fire around caster.
School - Unclassified/Unknown
Legality - Unknown, presumed illegal
Spell Class - S
Range - Self
Area of Effect - The fire emits waves of extreme heat that disperses normally.
Casting Time - 3-4 seconds
Duration - When caster dispels it or it becomes doused.
Counter Measures - Banishing large amounts of water/ice at the shield.
Tactical Uses - The shield can resist almost any spell, and since it is layered it can even resist 3 Killing Curses.

Ut Pulsus Ergater:
Spell Effects: Is three combined forceful pushing spells that hit consecutively.
School - Nuetral
Legality - Legal
Spell Class - B
Range - Line of Sight
Casting Time - 1-1.5 seconds
Counter Measures - A powerful magical shield, deflection.
Tactical Uses - Can punch through more powerful shields than normally would be possible for the amount of power, as the 3 spells hit before the shield can compensate.

Distraho Corpus Utconscindo:
Spell Effects: If targeted on a limb it'll rip the limb off and make dozens of cuts on the nearby area, if it hits the torso it'll cause hundreds of cuts over their entire body.
School - Dark
Legality - Banned
Spell Class - B
Range - Line of Sight
Casting Time - 2-3 seconds
Counter Measures - Magic-resistant hide will dissipate it at average power if it hits the torso, if it hits a limb it might not pull it off all of the way.

Actually, the Spell List was inspired by this thread.

This thread seems like a place to post the more humorous spells that people make up. Still, will be useful to keep an eye on.
