It's strange no one has posted a thread about this brilliant story before. This is a sequel of Draco's old story Apprentice Potter, but it's even better than the first one.

I actually think that 1st person is what make this story so special. The way author writes Harry's thoughts and his sarcastic comments are like 50% of the whole atmosphere.

 

I could do without the damned Mudblood, but other than that the fic is good. Naturally I vastly prefer his Harry/Cho works and would love to see him do more with that pairing.

 

I think I happened across Apprentice awhile ago, but I can't stand to read first-person-POV. It just gives me a headache and ruins the immersion factor for me.

 

I dont see how people persist in making the mudblood Harry's girlfriend!? but especfially when he goes out with a slytherin either before or later! but i admit i liked the first story haven't seen the second, so might have to go on over there now and check it out.

I hope he breaks up with Hermione in this story, she's STILL going on and on about Dumbledore even though she KNOWS what he's done to Harry..

Other than Hermione, this is one of my favorite pair of fics (this is the sequel to Apprentice Potter)

The significant lack of romance suits me fine for this story. Journeyman Potter has had a number of really good chapters. He nails the angry/snarky Harry so well. The First person POV has never bothered me though, so it might still annoy those of you who can't stand those. I wrote a one-shot in 1st person (Birth of a Name). It's kind of a pain but I think fits this story pretty well.

Seeing Harry take on the mafia, and then the vatican were lovely.

Draco664 is one of those great authors I like pretty much everything from.

He pioneered the Harry/Fawkes ship practically!

 

This is one of the best stories around. 1st face perspective is simply brilliant. I'm glad to see Draco is back.

 

I like this story... This Harry is IMO very different from what he was during Apprentice Potter... Infinitely more sarcastic!!!

HP/BZ, I like, but making it into a threesome with the (dum dum dum!!)mudblood kills a bit of the story for me. 1st person POV doesn't really bother me. He nails the snarky Harry very well.

 

Yeah, it was stupid decision pushing Hermione into the picture, but thankfully romance isn't a big part of the story. Kick ass and sarcastic Harry simply overpower any irritation this story might cause...

 

I read it... And once I got into it it was ok.

But like Middy I dont like 1st person... Though I suppose it beats second person POV

 

This story is FANTASTIC, and has been recently updated.

First read the original. That's also GREAT.

Anyway, I loved the treatment of Snape in the new chapter.

And Harry getting 3-way! EXCELLENT!!

I loved Apprentice Potter but I havent read the sequel yet but since everyone seams to love it so will I make sure to read it.

 

I like the first person thing in this fic. I havent seen much of that. Anyone know any more fics with first person writing? You know like:

I did this, I crushed Snape's balls with a sledge hammer, I burned down the weasleys house and started singing happy birthday on ginny's birthday...

 

The Rise of Chaos by Allizarin Sylvain Phyre is one of the best one of this kind. It's deleted now, but copy can be found at HPRecycleBin yahoo group.

Another fine example is The Potter Factor by Amora (at FFN).

Can't think of any other ATM, but yeah, I love stories like that.
