I'm looking for a story that I read a while ago hosted at fanfiction.net. It doesn't fit perfectly into the DLP mold, but since it involved Exiled!Harry, I was hoping that someone on this forum would be familiar with it. Here's a short summary:

Harry has been living in exile with his son since the end of the war. The new ministry approaches him and asks that he become headmaster of Hogwarts. Naturally, he isn't thrilled about rejoining the wizarding world, but he does accept the offer, and sets out to recruit some decent professors. It's a little clichéd, but Neville is drafted for Herbology. Hermione, who is working at Gringotts is furious at Harry for leaving everyone behind, and she (as far as I read) refused to come teach at Hogwarts.

I've done several searches at FFN, but their search engine is rather pathetic. It would be great if they would implement Lucene so that we could search the actual content of the stories. Anyways, I'd really appreciate any help in finding this story.

EDIT: Upon reading this story, I am absolutely certain that this story is the one for which you were searching. It fits all of your criteria.

 

That's exactly the story I was looking for--thanks for finding it. I didn't even think about using Google. However, in a few sample searches that I did, it only returns the first chapter of the story. It obviously works in this case, but if someone is looking for a detail that happens in a later chapter, someone would be out of luck. Still, it's a lot better than the standard FFN search.

You probably saw the "Similar Threads" at the bottom and thought the first one was a new post. I think I did that on my first post too.
