Has anyone else been having these problems with Firefox lately?

1.) Trying to attach files take too long, or never attach at all?
2.) Example, trying to attach a file to an email?
3.) Problems uploading files to photobucket, imageshack or any online file storage site?
4.) Some websites don't seem to want to load right?

I just wanted to see if anyone else was having these or any other problems with FireFox lately. Trying to find out if it is on my end or if something has gone crazy with the code. I really do not want to switch back to Internet Explorer (which I have had to do lately)

What version of Firefox are you using?

Happens to me too. I haven't figured out why yet, but after about FF 2.0.0.4 it stopped working properly.

I highly recommend you guys update to Firefox 3 Beta 1.

A load of bugs have been fixed--including memory leaks that bloated the executive, gmail loads much faster, etc.

I have yet to experience a crash with Firefox 3, as I have with Firefox 2, when too many tabs are opened at once.

Perhaps the bugs you guys have mentioned are also gone.

I am running 2.0.0.11. Do most of the add-ons work for 3? I am a little iffy about running beta programs. Does version 3 seem more stable?

It's been okay so far. As for add-ons, I know that Chatzilla works, but I don't have any others.

Well, officially the stance is that regular uses should wait before installing Beta 1. But Beta 1 has been available for download for nearly six months already, and I've personally found it far more stable than Firefox 2.

Unfortunately, only a few add-ons work for Firefox 3--but I'm sure more are being updated daily as I haven't checked for addons (I don't use them) for a month or so.

It has a few extra features that are a godsend: for example, when you exit the browser, you have the option of saving all the tabs you've opened. And like I said before, the Firefox 3 doesn't freeze up when I have a dozen or so YouTube videos loading up with another dozen or so tabs running gmail, news sites, fanfiction, etc.

To be honest, I can't find a reason not to update to Firefox 3 beta1.

(I personally am using Firefox Minefield 3.0b2pre, installed it a couple weeks ago).

    Here is what you do:

Save the xpi file to disk instead of opening it, open it with Winrar, pull out install.something or other, I forget the extension, open it in notepad, change maxversion: 2.0.0.* to 3.0.0.*. then put it back in the rar and overwrite the original one. Drag and drop into addons window and they'll work fine.

If its a signed extension, like the Del.Icio.Us Bookmarks official one, delete the meta-data folder from the xpi file.

I'll give that a go tomorrow Vash. Confused me until I figured out that .xpi was the addon. Though I was just checking, and the addon that I really care about "Ad Block Plus" seems to be Version 3 compatible.

I can confirm that the FF3 Beta does indeed fix an exaustive list of bugs. I had one where Firefox would always crash when I had more than five tabs open. Exactly.

Since then I can open up all the porn news tabs I feel like all at once.

Only thing that annoys me now is that the font in the tabs are kinda fuzzy for some reason.

While I personally don't take anybody very seriously when they don't have proper spelling/grammar and such, your post has caused me to backup my current Firefox version before I install the beta, lucifer.
    On a similar note:
Please, for the love (hate?) of God, learn to utilize the English language properly.

Especially since Firefox comes with a spellcheck...

Ugh, I'm having both Firefox and IE problems with this site :( I joined some time ago but today was the first time I've been able to log in with any of my browsers. I have no idea why though, I come to the logging in message "Thank you for logging in, h2o" but I don't get logged in; it just returns to the main page. This is also the only site that is acting up for me when it comes to log-in issues. Ah well, I hope it just starts working like it did today; I'm too tired to introduce myself properly as I've just watched the rerun of Manchester United vs Newcastle at 2 in the morning :D Lovely game that...

    Cheers!

Since this seems to be the firefox troubleshoot thread, I have a problem.

Whenever I go on google images to look for anything I get blank boxes where the pictures should be. The sites load up fine, but I can't see any thumbnails.

    Anyone had this problem?

h2o, have you enabled cookies for DLP? Pissed off any of the admins?

Aekiel, check your adblock, see if Google images snuck in there by mistake.
