    Alright,

I have a program called Media Coder. It transcodes video files and audio files into other formats.

I ripped a dvd with VLC player using MPEG 1 format with Mpv1 video codec and Mp3 audio codec as transcoding opttions because its the only way I make it work.

The file is 1.79 gigabytes (1790 Megabytes).

When I try to transcode the mpeg file to an avi or mp4, it doesn't work.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Can anyone tell me a soloution?

Also on a completely separate note.

I have a TV episode in Flash format and try to code it to MP4 but the video goes faster than the audio when I watch it. Why?

It doesn't work in what way? AVI is just a container, what format are you transcoding it to?

    2) Because it's probably a shitty program.

I haven't changed the default format of xvid. Could that be the problem?

EDIT: I tried switching the format to MPEG 1 and the container to AVI and the Audio codec to MP3 and it still didn't work. All I got was the audio.

As long as you have the XvID codec you can watch XvID encoded videos. I'm not sure why it won't work, never used that program, try another program.
