For those who want to laugh at the idiocy of self-righteous religious fanatics, you gotta read this.

    http://www.bettybowers.com/harrypotter.html

Apparently, she's "America's bets Christian". I've just read through it and I can't tell if she hates Harry Potter because she thinks he homosexual, or because he backtalkst to adults. She's really dug deep into this one for evidence, including that when Harry leaves the closet, we're not just talking about a room change here, if you know what I mean.

EDIT: For those of you who are American and have seen the movie "The Patriot" with Mel Gibson, read this one as well.
    http://www.bettybowers.com/patriot.html
It doesn't matter if you hate the current administration or think that you're country is going to dogs, by the time you're finished, you'll be finding this self-righteous bitch's number and hunting her the fuck down.
You see, according to her "slavery is actually a rather charming thing"
And Mel Gibson is "One of those dreadful, uncouth Australians!"
I don't know if this whole web-page is meant to be a parody or not, but I'm not fucking laughing!

It is a parody, whether in good taste or not:

"One of the best parodies in 2001 AND 2002" -- About.com (Political Humor) and About.com (Satire and Religious Humor)"

Betty Bowers® is a satirical newsletter/website published by Betty Bowers Ministries

I thought the review of Harry Potter was rather humourous, but I read it as a parody, not as a serious work.

So Harry Potter is gay because he is English (which I can comiserate with :p) and because he he forced to sleep in the cupbaord under the stairs.

Well, I can't say I agree with her on that score.

I can't help but think that it is suposed to be a parody, its just too over the top to be otherwise.

That was uhh an interesting read. Who would've thought harry living in a cupboard under the stairs would lead to him being gay.

    Jesus Killer Rowling? Nice name...

It is a parody right? The way it was written really doesn't strike me as serious. Even if it was serious though, when has Harry ever plotted same-sex trysts? And since when does being forced to sleep in cupboard symbolize homosexuality? I read the other Harry Potter pages from the links at the top too. Crazy stuff, I wonder where she finds the times to come up with it all.

If it's a parody, it's not very funny and if it's serious...well, the mental institution's that way --->

It has to be a parody. It undermines a major theme of Christianity: humility. "America's Best Christian"

Even if it wasn't a parody, I'm a Christian and I don't see any "evil" in Harry Potter. A pastor at a church I used to go to said that the only thing he didn't like was the occasional swear word.

Of course, some people can take this ridiculously too far, like trying to cast spells with a stick and sincerely hoping that something happens.

    The only section worth reading:
Harry (Daniel Radcliffe), wearing a Dorothy Hamill unisex hairstyle resurrected from the 1970's by America's First Lady Laura Bush, is Jesus Killer Rowling's (and you wonder why she goes by her initials!)homosexual recruitment poster-boy. How do we know he is a depraved homosexual? Well, he's English. Furthermore, when he lives with his dreadful Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia, he sleeps "in the closet." (I never claimed that secular imagery was anymore subtle than our own!) As Harry becomes more attuned to his satanic powers, he comes "out of the closet" and befriends Hagrid (Robbie Coltrane), an old biker "bear" of lascivious intentions.

If there is any question that Harry is a homo, it is settled once and for all when he flees the dreadfully decorated (even by middle class British standards!) home of his Muggle foster family, the Dursleys. What is the first thing he does? He goes shopping! Making the rounds at the exclusive boutiques of Diagon Alley Outlet Mall, Harry picks out flamboyant accessories for a foppish wardrobe full of flowing gowns and hats so ludicrous they would be unthinkable outside of a black church. Like all Nancy-Boys, he becomes fascinated with 11-inch cylindrical objects he can hold in his hand and spends much of the film flying around with a pole wedged between the cheeks of his bottom.

^I found it hilarious, although the rest of the article was for the most part lacking in that department.

I found it rather...intriguing. Though part of me wanted to force a laugh, while the other wanted to kill the author. Not because of the article, but because of all the cannon "evidence" that Harry is indeed, gay. Shoulda thought of the fangirls before posting that article, she should have. >_<

Naming this a parody is people being in denial. Humans really are this fucking retarded.

Until they say its a parody, then it isnt. I'm thinking they are homophobic or something.

This is not a parody? Are you kidding me? Below is the entire article, pay special attention to the words in bold and try to tell me this is not a parody.

If I did not know better I would say Gio wrote this.

I'm pretty certain that the whole website is a parody.

O...M...G, I couldn't even read this thing all the way through. It has to be a parody, not that I'm contesting the claim that people really are this stupid. It's sad though that if it weren't for all the advertisments on the sight I could take this for legitimate 'christian' blathering.

Also, regardless, as a Catholic, I'm vaguely offended. XP

I found it pretty damn amusing. You've got to be a moron if you can't identify the humor in this...
