    Universal Orlando Facebook:

THE ADVENTURE CONTINUES: THE WIZARDING WORLD OF HARRY POTTER – DIAGON ALLEY IS COMING TO UNIVERSAL ORLANDO RESORT.
Building on the global phenomenon that is The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Universal Orlando Resort and Warner Bros. Entertainment today announced an expansion of historic proportion with the entirely new themed environment, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley.

Scheduled to open in 2014, the world’s first centrally themed, multi-park experience expands The Wizarding World of Harry Potter across both Universal Orlando theme parks and allows Universal’s creative team to bring an unparalleled vision to this unique project. The new area will bring to life some of the experiences and places found in and around London in the Harry Potter books and films, offering brand-new adventures for fans and theme park guests from around the world.

Diagon Alley and ‘London’ will be located within the Universal Studios Florida theme park, which is adjacent to Universal’s Islands of Adventure theme park, where guests now experience Hogwarts and Hogsmeade. The new area within Universal Studios will be just as expansive, immersive and authentic as the existing themed environment.”

    Confirmed Thus Far:

    • Diagon Alley Expansion
    • New Themed Restaurant
    • Gringotts Bank Themed Attraction
    • Travel between both Wizarding Worlds via Hogwarts Express w/2 Park ticket

It only works if you have to enter through the Leaky Cauldron, which is in turn in a mock up of Charing Cross Road.

(I had no idea whether to revive this topic or make a new thread.)

Just had a family holiday where we went to this park. Both parks were pretty awesome to attend, even as an adult.

    * The 'spell' system is interesting - if you have a wand, there's spaces where you can make wand movements that cause certain effects to happen - generally in storefronts.
    * The inside of Gringotts is amazing, and the puppets they used for the goblins work pretty well. The ride itself is fun, although heavily movie-based. Harry, Hermione, Ron, Bellatrix and Voldemort all make appearances.
    * The leaky cauldron food isn't too bad. Best I can say about it.
    * It does include a fake version of london, although the leaky cauldron is on the 'magic' side. Trying to squeeze all the attendees through a single restaurant was probably infeasible.
    * The express is a video ride - you get in a real train but you watch a video of the countryside while it takes you to the other park. Kind of disappointing, but it works.
    * The dragon breathes fire every 10 minutes.
    * I liked the Hogsmeade part much more than the new Diagon area.

Is it just me, or are a lot more roller coasters video rides these days? Has anyone else been? Anyone have any questions?
