Fading Footsteps by Stick Marionette - K+
Title: Fading Footsteps
Author: Stick Marionette Genre: Drama/Angst, Oneshot DLP Category: Alternates Pairing: None Status: Complete Summary: Professor Edward Elric takes an interest in a brilliant student by the name of Tom Marvolo Riddle. Link: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2499438/1/Fading_Footsteps This is an old story but I don't think I've seen it here before here. This is a Harry Potter/Fullmetal Alchemist crossover oneshot done right. Some basic knowledge of the Fullmetal Alchemist anime will be very helpful. Basically Edward Elric is teaching alchemy at Hogwarts while searching for a way to get home. Tom Riddle and Dumbledore's characterization are great. The best part of the oneshot are the far reaching consequences of the ending. I think it deserves a 5/5. One of my favorite one shots despite not featuring Harry in it.

There's no slash. Mustang isn't even in the story beyond Ed mentioning him a few times. Beyond that it is a Harry Potter story.

This is probably the first non-HP centric story that I have read in three years of reading the HP fandom.
It was an excellent way to start fortunately, it's not superlative, but it is outstanding. In particular, the dialogue and character interaction is superb. 4/5 and definitely worth a read if you don't mind non-HP related stories. Certainly capable of garnering entrance to the library. |

Interesting concept but forgettable. 3/5.

It felt kind of off-center, but for this, I like that.
