The beginning is probably the most unique I've seen in a Dark!Harry fic. Still, was a little cheesy (Mmmmm. Cheese.) with the whole seizure at the sound of a name thing. Ah, well, has great potential. I suppose at this point it could go a number of ways. We'll just have to wait for more. Till then, we can only speculate.

Anyway, I like the story. Been a while since I read it, so I can't remember if it's complete or not. And then the author could have completed it while I was reading elsewhere. But I digress.

To be honest I found it to be alittle blaaahh, Don't get me wrong I'm not say it's bad just alittle slow for my taste's. However i will give the writer points for an original idea

Original? Yeah...
Cliche? IMO...
Why? Because from the start you can tell that later on in the story Harry is going to turn against his new father because he got tired of being manipulated, IE Dumbledore Syndrome.

To start with, this story is five chapters including the original default chapter.

However, it has been abandoned and not updated in over four years. The author sort of spoils important plot points in the original A/N.

The prologue is..interesting, though not focusing on Harry.

The first real chapter starts with Abused!Harry around the age of eight. The author seems to be summing up basically Harry's canon life if it were a bit worse then what Rowling describes. Harry is literally abused for the first half of the chapter.

Harry is then proceeded to be taken in by the Greengrass family, who the character mentions has another son.

The second chapter seems to be focusing more on Greengrass (the father) then Harry and his plans for Harry. The author seems to think his descriptions are part of the character's thoughts at one point.

Of course, Dumbledore is evil supposedly, and is going to try and stop Harry from going with Greengrass. However, as already made obvious by the author, he'll fail. At least the author made Dumbledore sorry for his actions, despite the fact he also treats him like complete crap.

Third chapter, Harry and Greengrass take almost half the chapter to even get into the manor. Then Greengrass makes the eight year old Harry swear a fealty vow to the Greengrass noble line. So now, Harry is a member of the Greengrass family. Then Harry meets the rest of the family.

The fourth and last updated chapter, now Harry is 10. Harry's new "father" somehow knows about the Order of the Phoenix. So much for being a secret organization. Now Harry addresses his "father" as Master as he will be now taught by the Greengrass father figure.

Harry would hardly call it, fitness training, more like torture. Surely, he thought, that anyone would consider making a child run, four to five miles a day torture. Or dumping a boy who had no prior experience in swimming into a deep lake, leaving him to fight or sink; or making him cover the 500-meter diameter of the lake twenty times daily. The worse, no doubt, was making him hang on a tree branch for up to three hours each day, while conjuring hot coals below, to make sure that Harry would not be tempted to let go, all the time having to endure Daphne’s pulling of funny faces, trying to make him laugh and lose his grip.

Because that's not child abuse or anything.

Seriously though, four to five miles a day? And training all these hours? Harry!Super soldier much?

There were two things that came out of this. The unfortunate thing was no such Magical method of correcting one’s eyesight- potions, spells or whatsoever, existed, as Father so nicely put it, “If magic could correct one’s eyes, there wouldn’t be any bespectacled wizard or witch around, you idiot”. The good thing was Daphne’s childhood friend, Tracey Davis, who was thankfully shorter than him, had sparkling violet eyes, and wore her blonde hair straight down instead of Daphne’s preferred ponytail, introduced him to her father and narrated his problem

Finally, the author makes a good point with the eyewear.

The rest follows the same old cliche storyline. I would of given this story a 3 if it had finished, improved it's grammar, etc. However since it did none of these things, it gets a 2/5 in my book, and my belief that it should be removed from the Library.
