These are some questions I think would be a good idea to have in the FAQs:

What are the site's policies on smut and slash fiction?
What are the slash and rating filters, and how do I adjust them?
What are the site's quality control policies?
Does the site have a forum?
How do I change my name?

And of course the standard troubleshooting/bug stuff.

What is the Definition of Slash fiction?

Definitely important.

For example, is a slash story one in which the main character is gay?

What if the main character is straight but there are gay background characters?

What if the story is about Dumbledore, in which it's canon that he's gay?

What if the main character is gay, but never acts on it or it's unrequited: he never gets any action, or even a boyfriend?

I think generic Fanfiction questions should make their way. I know when I started reading I had no idea what OoC and all that crap meant, and lets just say I learned what Lemon meant the wrong way....

But things like

"What is Slash?"
"What is Shipping?"
sound good to me

And perhaps questions that emphasize the quality of Fics you want on the site. For example you can define shipping for what it is and mention the quality of ship you are seeking or something like that, so that readers can get the concept of fanfiction as well as the feel for what the site seeks.

As it will be mostly known that the site is run by people from DLP, you may want to also be clear with people about things like Harry/Ginny, slash, crossovers, quality control, and all the other basic stuff.

This wouldnt be a FAQ so much as a statement of what the site is.

Maybe a page of what Patronuscharm is why you made it and what you hope to achive by it. In it you should include why almost all if not all slash is pretty much not accepted. Why you have impossed the standards you have. It should clearly explain why your site is different to the other sites and what sort of stories it will host. Kind of like an extended site greeting and explanation that everyone should read before joining.

To stay on the topic, I think the FAQ should be more like a ToS page; we don't want PC to become another FF after all; slash are bad, but so are 90% of non-slash stories found on FFN.

I have never ever read a fic where background gays in someway does not buttfuck main character gays. Authors tend to either make everyone on the planet flamboyantly gay or choose not to show any.

Basically, a general all purpose slash filter is enough

It's sometimes used for humor. for example, in Jeconais' 'This Means War' Terry Boot try to seduce Malfoy and I think he succeeded, but no other character is gay.

Would it be possible to have a list of common HPFF terms and their meaning?

I mean, the first several times I saw MWPP I thought to myself "Damn, there is a lot of Molly Weasley/Peter Pettigrew shipping."

Of course, I soon realized it was Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot & Prongs. But I'm forever scarred by the notion of Molly Weasley and Peter Pettigrew.

Same here. I didn't click any story with MWPP in their summaries for four or five months after coming to FFN. Just no.
