There hasn't been an update for a long, long time, but I like the characterisation of this obnoxious young French Harry - who's showing many growing similarities to Voldemort. The first chapter isn't brilliant, but it gets better. Not sure that I like the idea of a blind Harry though… seems pretty unrealistic given that he's a wizard. Unless his eyes get gorged out, I'd have thought 'blindness' should be curable.

    Anyway, I reckon there's lots of potential…

Why do several wizards wear glasses if eye sight could be cured? I assume it cant. Though Dumbledore probably just wears them for the hell of it, not because his eyes are going. Magic cant do everything... well, in canon anyway.

I was reading this ages ago but like you said, no update in ages. It's pretty good.

I figured the whole glasses thing was a kind of metaphor-like connotation. Like, in Dumbledoo's case, glasses make him 'Grandfatherly' and 'Wise' *cough. Whereas with Harry, his glasses symbolise an obvious fault, so he doesn't turn into a 'Hunky Sex God' - cause we all know that JKR can hardly blatantly state how 'incredibly handsome' he is. Not that that stops anyone else.

It actually pisses me off when people deliberately fix Harry's eyesight in fics. Like they have to spell out word for word OOC. I dunno, maybe eyesight can't be cured with magic. Only, if us muggles can do it with lasers…

I read this, and its entertaining, but I had NO indication that he was blind. In fact it appears he's able to see.

Anyway, good fic. Maybe the author mislabeled it?

Sad it hasn't been updated though, I would check it out anyway.

from author's notes in first chappy:

    "A Harry becomes blind story"

fyi...if this thing ever gets off the ground again...even though the author has stated that there is no pairing...a quick perusal of his other works, his favorites, and his C2's show a strong favoring towards slash and moron-as-friends (good snape and draco).

so maybe this is better off as a good idea, and not a finished work.

I couldn't read it. The whole thing irked me to the point where I couldn't distiguish which part was irking me.

It doesn't look all that bad, but I couldn't get into it.

    i liked this story.

the author said the following though,

    1st February 2006
I'm sorry, but I am pretty much giving up on writing for the next three or four months. I will return once my exams are over and when I have a huge lovely five month long summer holiday in which I hope to make up for the time lost.

    Hope to see you soon!

For some reason I have an extra chapter of this in the Archives that does not exist on FF.nutz... Any ideas what's up with that?

Story no longer exists at ff.net, and there's no sign of it on google.

According to bornagainpenguin, the story is in the Archives. So take it as you will.

Pretty decent story, could have been good. With just 3 chapters though I will have to give this 2/5 and a ticket out of the library since noting really happens.

I wasn't aware how many chapters were written had anything to do with rating as long as there was enough of the story there to base a rating on.
