What did you guys think of the movie? I thought it was a pretty good action flick....It makes me wonder how many things like that [obviously not exactly like that, I mean covert operations ] occur. Vingh Raymes[sp?] is getting old but I still love the character Luther Stickler....The two new agents helping Hunt, I don't even remember their names, but, they were pretty kick ass. Just wtf could the 'Rabbit's Foot' be?

I thought it was absolutely awesome, really. They actually managed to make a decent film, after the 'Is this a parody or something?' disaster that was Mission Impossible 2. I was pleasantly surprised at the character development they actually managed to insert into what I thought would just be an all-out action thriller.
Tom Cruise acted very well, despite my dislike for him in real life - as did all the others. The only problem I had with the movie was the villain, Davian, played by Philip Seymour Hoffman. Hoffman acted him superbly but I felt the character itself was rather two-dimensional.
You've really got to hand it to J.J. Abrams (director and writer) - he really knows his stuff. Recommended film.

Haha, his name is Ethan Hunt! I laughed so hard when i saw that. I haven't seen any Mission Impossible film, but with a name like that I've gotta give it a go.

The movie was horrible. Utterly hacked together, and tons of filler. the story was really pathetic and you could see coming from a mile away.

They don't reveal what "the rabbit's foot" is... ug. Didn't they do the chemical/biological weapon already in MI:2?

His girlfriend... no wait, his wife, because they had to force a sudden marriage on him for you to really think he'd risk the world for her, manages to go from a snivelling twit to being able to take out trained assassins?

bleh I'll not bother with more, this movie was that bad. Almost as bad as the ending of the last Tomb Raider movies with the massive shadow monsters of death.

I did have a few cool moments, like the machine gun turret, or him almost throwing the dude out of the plane, or when they entered the Vatican, but they were ruined by moments like the bridge fight which was totally crap, his wife owning the assassins, the "joyride" of the helicopter chase scene, etc.

There were no moments where I actually cared out what was going on.

    Oh.. wrong forum btw.

Characterization? What fucking characterization? They throw him with some chick he hardly knows, make him all fucking lovey dovey and then turn him into a desperate, foolish twit. Throw in a plot rivaling that of HBP in substance and you have MI3.

In that thing you call a closet. Better watch out,
It did suck, but it could have had at least a decent ending if they had him die.

I mean he gets fried and all she does is give him CPR and he magically revives.

    He should have died.

    /me shrugs.
I enjoyed it, I really did, especially when I compared it to Mission Impossible 2. Perhaps I did too much comparing, but I still enjoyed the movie. You weren't supposed to know what the rabbits foot is, it is, as a review I just read said, a nod to Hitchcock. That scientist/computer dude guy's 'speculation' is given to you as a possible explanation, but the whole thing is kinda Spooks. Need to know only, if you get my meaning. I might just be putting up a meager defense for the movie, but hey, it was a sweet action movie IMO.

Yeah I got that you were supposed to use your own imagination as to what it was.. but the name alone made it seem really, really weak ass.

Ethan explaining that he's a member of the Impossible Mission Force made me cringe as well. Yeah that's the name of IMF, but when the series was run forever ago, that name didn't seem quite so retarded as it does today.

It made zero sense that they cut out Ethan going in after the container as well, that could of been some cool breaking and entry stuff like in MI1. What the fuck was with the baseballs as well, totally stupid

    I couldn't stand it.

MI1 was the best. This movie was made for the sake of just finishing the trilogy and marrying Ethan off.

:HBP: galore. Maybe JK had a hand in this one? [Insert Sudden Love Interest Here]

Haha it was an ok movie... but JKR most likely did have something to do with this movie.

Probably wrote the script under a fake name herself. :p

    LOL Myst.

Mi:III suxed donkey nuts. Yeah sure it had some ok action scenes. But then that was all it had. Plot? What stinking plot?? This was a just a bunch of action scenes crammed around some weak pethetic love story and failing in both. Seriously there are B-rated movies that are better than this one and porn with more plot!

I thought it was pretty good. Not excellent, but i would certainly reccomend it to anyone.

Apparently, it wasn't a sudden love interest. He's bee out of the field for a while, and has just been training operatives. I guess that he hooked up with this chick during that time. Yeah, the marriage was a bit irritating, but i just went with it.

I thought the vatican part was cool, but i have to say that there was one part of the movie that won it for me.

The asian girl. She was bloody gorgeous.

  14. The movie in general was entertaining if not brilliant.

However, the one thing that made me want to scream was that they pushed CPR stereotypes to the extreme. Let me tell you something about CPR: It does NOT restart the heart!!!

CPR's only purpose is to maintain a minimal bloodflow in the body while you wait for the ambulance and the defibrilator to arrive. Also, if you don't at least crack some of the patient's ribs, you're not doing it right. You have to push HARD!!!!

Now, here comes Tom Cruise who is not only revived miraculously by CPR, but he actually regains full consciousness, grabs the freakin' gun, sit up and manage to aim the gun somewhere. When that happened, I was like  WTF!!!!

anyways, that was me doing a bit of ranting
