Conchita Wurst has won Eurovision Song Contest 2014.

It's a victory for equality around the world.

Should have been in IRC. We spent the last 4 hours talking about Eurovision and not much else.

I voted for Poland because tits, but was also a big fan of Armenia and Spain.

I don't think Austria's song was strong enough to win, but good for her for winning. I suppose it's about more than the music.

The crowd shouting a loud boo every time Russia got points was both lulzy but also sad, as the poor 17-year-old girls who sang their entry didn't really deserve it.

UK beat Germany, Italy and France, so it was a win from my perspective. Especially as France only got two points lol. Serves them right for insisting on speaking French XD

Fun side note: in Chile "concha" is slang for "vagina" so "conchita" means "little pussy".

 

Yeah her song wasn't the best but it wasn't an atrocity either. Good on her.

Would've preferred Sweden or Netherlands though. Loved their songs.

 

Eurovision isn't really about the songs, it's about cheering on the most ridiculous performers and performances that Europe has to offer. I hate that they're trying to take it seriously now.

With a severe lack of pirates, vampires or the elderly in the finals this year, the bearded lady was honestly the only qualified winner.

 

Fucking Europeans.

 

I think that goes for most of Latin America. I know that in Cuba it also means that. In Brazil concha means both a shell and ladle. Once a famous brazilian journalist went there, and he asked the owner of the restaurant he was eating at for her "concha". She slapped him. hard. and she was in her seventies.

 

France's performance had me in tears with the costume, the song name, just everything about it - was happy to see them claim last place. Cheesy, but just awful.

Not surprised by the winner, didn't enjoy the song personally but it was different, very Bond-esque.

Shout-outs to Poland for the softcore porn performance, the UK for not having a shit performance all-round for once, Iceland for standing out with the basics and Germany for cloning Pink.

 

After all the noise this year made, also thanks to last year hundreds posts on 9gag about it and Scandinavia and the World i decided to download the final and watched. You europeans are pretty crazy, amusing and kinda-cool crazy. I liked it. Plus, lots of hot women.

Of all the vids that I saw, the top 10 voted, I liked Conchita best. She was epic, I like epic.

Edit: Saw France. That hurted.

 

We were giggling about her second name - a sausage was quite appropriate, all things considered.

 

I hate Eurovision ever since they denied Zladko from Molvania enterance. Twice!

That said, I find it funny how everyone whines that Poland's song - as crappy as it was - was softcore porn. Seriously, it's much tamer than most of the pop shit we're being fed from the US.

 

Nobody's whining KrzaQ, they liked the softcore porn.

Also, the song's pretty nice too.
