Las Conchas fire in New Mexico a little more than a week ago. Flames are visible on the ridge overlooking my office, which is in the dark building on the left of the image). The fire got to within about a half mile of the Lab and town site, with a few spot fires on Lab property.

 

Looks less like a forest fire and more like a volcanic eruption. Jesus.
