If we assume that creation of Bob was an attempt to make something similar to the Archive then it's probably some famous wizard from the past. Could be Merlin, but that would make him a little too overused in the story. Morgan le Fay seems to be a better choice. Her involvement could explain Bob's connection to the sidhe courts.

Or he could just be a Spirit of Intellect that came about naturally. That entry just seems to imply that Bob rode around in peoples' heads (like he does with Mister) before he got a skull of his own to inhabit.

It could go either way, the wording is (probably intentionally) rather vague like that.

My money's on Bob never having been mortal though. He's too fundamentally different to have originated from a being with a soul, methinks.

I just don't think he was 'created' in the same way the Archive was. I just think he came about as a natural process of the world, that he was born rather than made.

Butcher apparently reads the first (and maybe 2nd?) chapter of the next book.

Go to youtube and search for: "Miscon reading"

The quality sucks and I dislike audiobooks so I did not really listen to it to be honest. But there it is for those who are interested.

I only wish the quality was better. But yeah, I also came. I was kinda "Meh" about the whole preview of Cold Days, but this sounds awesome.

    Alfred is best island.

And I thought it was pronounced Den-air-ee-us, not Den-ar-ee-us.

Yeah, that was absolutely brilliant. It's the first 4 chapters as well.

That's plausible but to me the question then becomes, how the hell did a coin get there in the first place? I sincerely doubt the Church put it there and I doubt Hades just found it on the street. If that is what they're going for the best I can figure is that somehow a Denarian pissed Hades off, got atomized for their trouble and Hades tossed the coin in to his vault so it couldn't roll off and have some poor shmuck stumble across it.

They're going to get into the vault and Nicodemus is going to push Harry in and close it behind him.

You heard it here first, folks.

Odds are good the target of the heist is going to be some item from Greek myth.

My money's on either the Golden Fleece or one of Perseus' gadgets.
