I've a lot of people and organisations, terrorist cells and pubs, on my revenge list. The good people at Target providing cost savings on quality consumer merchandise have yet to make the list.

No doubt we'll soon be seeing Target on the backcovers of your books, as your new sponsors.

I wonder why did not one comment on this one "VIII.7.6 (inn of hte Muledrivers; left of the door); 4957. We have wet the bed, host. I confess we have done wrong. If you want to know why, there was no chamber pot." - that is pure gold :p

And this one is a little sad:
"VIII.2 (in the basillica); 1812: Caesius faithfully loves M[...name lost]"

"Weep, you girls. My penis has given you up. Now it penetrates men's behinds. Goodbye, wondrous feminity!"

"Defecator, may everything turn out okay so that you may leave this place."

"The one who buggers a fire burns his penis."

Yeah, that's the thing most TV series tend to miss. Greco-Roman humour was all about dick and shit jokes.

As opposed to today's much evolved and sophisticated joking material?

No man, you're missing my point. Greco-Roman humour was all about dick and shit jokes. As in even the most lauded of Greek playwrights stuck in dick jokes. There was no high brow humour back then, at all.

Take a look at an Aristophanes play sometime. They're surprisingly entertaining for how old they are, but they're just chock full of dick jokes. Full of them.

From what I understand then, ancient Greek theatre mirror the ancient Greeks.

It really is something to know that humanity hasn't changed even 2,000 years later. A combination of depressing and hilarious really.

The Ancient Greeks invented satire and a lot of their comedies were aimed at prominent political figures. Socrates gets a lot of flak in Aristophanes' plays and it has been argued that said plays were one of the major reasons that he was executed, so in a lot of ways theatre did mirror the Greeks of the time.

I think he is referring to your line about mirroring ancient Greeks and them being full of dicks, that's about it.
