In Small Favor, Harry mentions the Evil Overlord List and whether Nicodemus had read it or not. So the Alphas must've mentioned it or printed out a copy for Harry or something.

See that was what I was thinking, my friend has a bunch of Salamanders and he runs them against another guy's Khorne Beserkers, and then there's D&D and such which as far as I know is more focused on the actual roleplay than creative combat.

If you really want to know:

Blood Angels are a chapter of Spehss Mehreenz, a hyper-xenophobic set of superhumans dedicated solely to the preservation and advancement of humanity, in a galaxy that would like nothing more than to kill them.

The Necrons are a race that sold their souls to their gods for power and were transformed into machine zombies. Which then decided to kill and harvest the souls of every living thing in the galaxy to feed to their gods.

In the latest version of the lore, the Necrons and the Blood Angels are now allies and are willing/ready to aid each other. Despite the fact that the Blood Angels are xeno-hating pricks, who were created specifically to kill shit like the Necrons, and that the Necrons are omnicidal zombie robots serving soul eating abominations that would make Cthulhu shit itself in fear.

And yea, I'm gonna stop there before I give myself an aneurysm and/or further derail the thread.

LOL, I don't skip any dialogue - I've got over 400 hours played of Skyrim so far and far more for Oblivion and Morrowind, so it's quite possible I've listened to almost every line of dialogue in those games. Despite that, I couldn't tell you a thing about CHIM or explain a lot of the subtler details about Talos/Alessia/Tiber Septim or whatever.

Edit: Yeah, exactly what Red Aviary said. My understanding is that a lot of TES lore isn't really in the games (or at least it's only alluded to) and is just stuff that Kirkbride has said.

Well, it is in the game. It's mostly in the novels in the game though, like the Sermons of Vivec. It's still overly complicated.
