seriously though surely there's some reason you have that read. On a related note, why exactly have you been pointlessly difficult all game?

...and you're surprised you're getting run up?

Like, in what way is this a town mindset? If everyone's difficult with you then most of them are town and being difficult back makes it harder for them (and thus you) to win.

Anyway, seriously. Jari towncase. It is actually important, believe it or not. Doesn't have to be anything fancy.

Was getting run up even before that so it makes no difference as far as I can tell.

Yeah but then it continued the next day and hasn't stopped. Like when one of my earliest wolf reads gets lynched and flips witch and the thought of most people is to lynch me next I don't think there's a lot I can do for anyone.

Man, that reminds me of City Slickers Mafia. I'd suggest you analyze your own wagon for who's lynching you in bad faith, but I suspect:
    a) you think it's basically everyone, and
    b) when I did that in City Slickers the scum I found got made lynchproof >_>

I mean, you can do this. But if you actually want to lynch DC you ought to do something more concise than an ISO analysis of a player with a 300 posts.

Yes. There's no mechanical difference between an Illusion Kill and any other kind of kill, it's effectively 'Kill a player. That player is protected from this kill'.

I know it's rich coming from me, but that kind of lynch has to happen and it's deserved every time.

Sell me on Citrus? I'm literally jumping the fence over and over on Citrus, unable to pick a side.

If you believe this, it's really important that you try and convince everyone else of this because you're probably the only one?

So whose doing this as a witch? Who is towny? What exactly is going on?

    You're hugely overselling your townreads here;
Newcomb you mentioned as town once (#2598) and it's not exactly a controversial read.
Owner you said was never a witch early day 2, and since then you've walked it back to 'too consensus-y' and whatever this hedge is:

Dya and Rubi were the two most freebie townreads in the game.

Going through your ISO to find this stuff and I get the vibe that you're extremely happy with how the game is going; like your main action today was to put a naked vote on vaimes then not try at all to actually make that vote happen.

Like, the two wagons today were on someone you thought was 'never a witch' and jari who you thought was probably village on d2 and was less sure about today. Regardless, that kind of huge disconnect between your stated reads and the direction of the thread should be a major problem but I never got that vibe from you at all.

And who was going to listen to me? I said owner was a villager so many times and she almost got lynched anyway (twice).

People can listen after you're dead, you know :V

Even assuming you never get revealed in any way, you can end up town by PoE posthumously or spewed clear or Priest can claim a green check on you after your death or any number of things.

anyway it's midnight so I have to go to sleep. I don't think I can pop on until like an hour or two before deadline so that'll be "fun" :/

Man I had a much funnier way of claiming that and now you'll never get to hear it.

---------- Post automerged at 08:38 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:29 AM ----------

For the record, I fully endorsed claiming - in fact it was my suggestion in Agent chat, I just wanted to hold it longer since I was trying to signal LW last night with that whole "I think owner's town but this isn't a hill I'm dying on, you guys do what you want" thing.

Unsure how successful I was with LW/Agent confusion agenda; I couldn't bring myself to think too deeply about how to play it "best" or whatever.

I think claiming here is always good, and I would have ended up doing it 95% of the time with Rubicon surviving a shot, since the odds that owner survived the lynch and Hunter shot both are like, 10% at best.

First, it takes one person and maybe two (depending on how villagery I could be over the rest of the game) people out of the PoE and clears them, which is incredibly strong. Like, this is stronger than Priest with a green outing since D1 witch lynch you might doubt the green a bit. This is two 100% clears, Mason claims essentially.

Second, it gives the witches and potentially LWs more information. This is a good thing. At least for me, a guy who approaches the game from the base mindset of "witches are the people who know who all the town are and it leaks through", the Elder/LW thing fucks with that hardcore. Tbh I /want/ the LWs to get recruited, I want them to have the burden of perfect knowledge. I think I'd have always claimed before halftime just because of that. Because you can psuedo legitimately scumhunt as a LW it makes them super hard to catch, IMO.

So now the remaining Elder or Elders knows 100% who their partners are, glgl treating them exactly the same.

The only downside is that owner/me don't get an extra life, which is whatever, and that we've removed ourselves from the holy pool, which is definitely a ding, but compared to the frankly huge benefits, not a dissuading factor.

I guess this means I have to give real reads? I'll probably do that at some point.

Also just to stress the most important thing here is that I was planning to claim in a much more entertaining way than owner did.

Do you feel like anyone's poked you too much like if you think they're were trying to determine if you guys shared a chat? Om the off-chance you had some vibes that anyone in particular might be an EW due to having extra info etc

Helluva lot more ways to convince anyone you're town than just appeal to emotion'ing all over the place. Ex: answer the question on your read on jarizok

Do I look like I'm trying to convince people I'm a villager? I gave up on that like midway through d2.

So Fable's basically lolcatting at this point.

Anyway, like I said earlier, clearly need to revamp some of my reads.

    Old read wall:
    Town:miner, Fluff, Fable, Silver
lean-town: dC, Jari, Citrus, Vaimes, Newcomb
    lean-scum: Beru, owner, kai

Immediate "hot-take" post claim read wall:
Town: miner, fluff, (Newcomb, owner), Silver
    Lean-town: KaiDASH
    Scum: Fable

    Explanation:
So I've been town-reading Fable for the last two days mostly because I thought he was an Agent. In terms of tonal stuff I was town reading him for - e.g. the frustration D1 and D2 with Acio seemed to me to be pretty genuine and I still mostly would town read that.

The sketchy stuff like the out of no-where Zealot claim is what makes me think he is a witch now, since that can't be explained away by an Agent!Fable world anymore. The self-voting also reads as petulance instead of frustration (this point may be confirmation bias? What do you guys all think about his self vote D1/D2?)

So in a scum Fable world, I'm not so sure anymore on my Acio/mal read. In terms of EW/LW Fable, EW!Fable claiming Zealot out of the blue makes no sense, whereas maybe LW would claim as a signal. (Though the claim still doesn't really make sense imo)

LW!Fable still allows for EW!Acio/mal, but I think it's probably safer to assume the worst case scenario right now where there are still 2 elders and 2 littles left alive. Plus how I don't think Acio/Fable are knowingly aligned. Not gonna world build off town "mal-onyx" exactly either, but I'm actually feeling better about kai again. Either way, given the chance of Spiritualist D4 on either the lynch today or mal-onyx etc... I think I'm happy with not lynch kai.

    Which leaves:
dC, Jarizok, Citrus, Vaimes, Beruru as my remaining PoE.

dC - very stale town read from D1. Reread incoming after this post (I'm probably not going to re-read all of his posts like Jarizok is doing, because that's a complete waste of time, but priorities are figuring out what he's done so far D2/D3)

Jari - just did this "ISO" two RL days ago. I put him slightly above null (or null-town). In terms of what he's done since then and the owner claim, I dislike the dC re-read thing in terms of how it seems like busywork. He's been around in the thread as stuff has happened, but not really to the same levels as before.

I'm conflicted, I don't really want to lynch him today, but I wouldn't really be that upset if he was shot by the Hunter either.

Citrus - stale-ish lean town read from D2. As a gut read of things since then - i.e. from just reading over his posts as they happened and not going back to look at them in detail - he's town.

Vaimes - stale-ish lean town read from D2. Will go back at some point to look at possible links with Fable since I don't think EW Vaimes is a thing iirc. Gut read = town.

Beruru - stale-ish lean scum read from D2. Deserves a big re-evaluation at this point. A lot of my complaints about her play late-ish D1 and early-ish D2 still exist, but honestly seems a lot more engaged with the game and is doing more too. So if I go with a gut read = town.

So, clearly even if kai and one of mal/Fable are scum, I'm not certain dC/Jari make sense as the remaining witches? That would be a really random bus attempt given GD is dead and UT seems to be scum/dead so like no real cred.

Anyway, not gonna speculate on that yet, since it might bias my dC re-read.

---------- Post automerged at 05:21 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:15 PM ----------

    EBWOP:

    * Should read "I think I'm happy with not lynching kai" instead of "I'm happy with not lynch kai"

    * As an addendum to the above, "for today"

    * As an addition to Beru's section, "re-evaluation coming after dC re-read"
