I'm actually starting to get interested in Nikkis character as I'm starting to think that maybee she herself isn't a hero, but its jessica. Nikki never shows the power, and its always jessica who does the fancy smancy " Hulk Smash" stuff.

I thought jessica was just a result of nikki having some kind of multiple personality syndrome, but now I'm thinking that the actual jessica( nikkis sister who died) is the hero who has the power to inhabit her sister or something like that...

crazy theory but it makes some sense if you think about it enough.

As for HRG... I think hes just trying to figure out a way to cure his daughter of the whole hero gene thing because whatever secret agency he works for captures and studies them... brain washing maybee.

Another great episode though not really much of importance has happened. No enlightening answers, not much progress with the plot and only a brief introduction of the new hero...still no chance that I'd get bored especially with Hiro being simply awesome as always.

I'm wondering if this Linderman has powers, too (or even is some kind of main villain). Looks like a lot seems to revolve around him from now on since almost everyone has a link of some sort to him (be it the sword, the favor for the stolen money, etc.)

yeah I'm getting tired of Linderman. The show's still great, but having them all be captured by the organization, and escaping helped by the black guy, would of made more sense then the constant running into each other. It's not believable at all, but *shrug*

Hiro is indeed the shit, they should've worked something in that he was the guy that owned the sword they were going to steal, him getting trapped in the past for a few years or something. he's the best character now because he's just flat out amusing, and his excitement is infective

Just came across episode 13. It was nice and all but there's not much to say about it without spoiling the whole thing...so here:

Well, first of all, I'm glad that there finally seems to be some sort of super villain that's behind everything (somebody with true power, bla bla). Sure, Sylar and the organisation look quite evil themselves, but apparently neither is the main villain. I think it was about time that someone like that was introduced...but it's somewhat lame for it to be Hiro's father -.-

I never really cared about all those 'coincidences', but this really overdoes it a wee bit. So yeah...this sucks :|

Everybody wanting to learn to control their powers now is fine and only logical. Still, the whole Nikki psychology sessions were rather boring. Same goes for Claire's search for her family. At least the invisible bum's character seems funny and the ability of Claire's mother is rather cool, albeit a bit clichéd. Perhaps a fire manipulator will make the whole Claire storyline a bit more exciting.

Ah and of course, little Micah finally realizes how to use his awesome powers the right way :)

Let's see . . . a few misconceptions that I'll try to clear up (assuming I'm right, and I'm often right), a few conjectures to throw out there.

I'm hoping that Mr. Linderman (pretty close to Lender Man) is the pseudonym of Hiro's dad, but I think I'm hoping against hope. I suspect that the "true power" that they're referring to is power in the Yakuza, but I suppose that it could be a supernatural power, since it is genetic.

On Zach. He was originally going to be a gay character. Because all of the nerds who watched the show identified with him, and sent in loads of "hEy wHeN is zAch anD clAire gOIng to hOOk up?!?!11111", they changed his character to straight to enable a relationship between the two of them. That's where all of the gay jokes from jackie come from

On Hiro Nakamura. Extremely badass character. I'm not against anyone named Nakamura, they've brought a lot of prestige to my race (Dan Nakamura, the automator, produced Demon Days, Hikaru Nakamura, youngest American GM ever, beating Bobby Fisher by a matter of months). Extremely badass actor. I hear he has an IQ in excess of 180. Now, what a guy with an IQ of 180+ is doing fucking acting, I have no idea, but I'm not complaining. Good stuff. He was nominated for a golden globe for best supporting actor, but was beat out by some pussy in Elizabeth I. Meh. But, compare everyone's power: Super strength at the expense of your rational thinking (arguably), flight, the ability to phase through walls, levitation, radioactivity, mind reading, instant regeneration, techno . . . pathy? I'm reluctant to call it technomancy, invisibility, persuasion, stealing other people's ability, and having prophetic dreams, the ability to see how things work, the ability to walk through dreams, pyromancy, the ability to paint the future, or . . . the ability to bend time and space. I know where I'm going, baby.

Now . . . let's move onto the Nikki storyline. She's a phenomenal actress. It's annoying that she's being all, "I can't be near you, because you'll get hurt," kind of like annoying angst!Harry stories, but with a reason. I suspect that Nikki and Jessica will merge, and after that, the big deal will be Nikki having to get over her new memories of her father beating her, and strangling her to death, and then she'll be fine. +1 dead father. It's a little annoying the way that they beat you over the head with, "WE'RE RACIALLY DIVERSE." I mean, I come from a biracial family, but you don't need every other relationship to be biracial. Peter Petrelli and Simone, or Isaac Mendez and Simone, or D.L. and Nikki. Everyone's hating on the Japaneseman! Ando tries to get some interracial loving with Nikki, and she just flatout rejects him, and then even Hiro tries to get some loving from Charlie, and fucking GOD, if the Haitian is to be trusted, prevents him from just a kiss. Meh.

Eheheh . . . the invisible man. "You can't fucking see me! i'm the invisible man!" I enjoyed how self righteous he was.

I like Claire's character. I was watching it with a friend (kind of. I was sending the files to her, which took forever) and she was complaining that Claire was a pussy, and that you could tell that Peter would be ditched for Isaac, but Claire gradually grew on her. It's nice that she got rid of the obnoxious cheerleader's outfit. There's a lot of interesting symbolism in the story, too, like there's clearly some kind of meaning behind the outfit, versus after she completely embraces the "freak" group, by decking Jackie, and letting her get killed.

Save the Cheerleader, Save the World is quite possibly the best/lamest tagline ever. It combines melodrama with cute and sparkly. Made of sugar and spice, and about to be pummeled to death with household objects.

Someone (midknight?) mentioned that they fucked up Peter's power, when he was with Sylar, but I don't think so, personally. There are two ways of looking at it:
#1. He couldn't take in all of the powers simultaneously, and that was the beginning of his unhinging.
#2. He did take in the power, but only used telekinesis, which was why Sylar dropped like a rock instead of levitating himself to safety.
#3. He only got Sylar's real ability, the ability to see how things work, and that was how he knew exactly how to pop his organs back in, and to shove his leg into place.

On Mohinder, the Indian Professor. The original role was for a 55 year old professor, much like Chandra Suresh, looking for people with supernatural talents. The guy who played Mohinder, however, auditioned so convincingly that they changed the entire role to suit him.

On Sylar, the crazy dude with lots of powers. It's mentioned that he managed to alter his DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid, if you were wonder /me is smug), and I'm going to go ahead and assume that he managed to remove a vital gland from his brain, and give it to himself. Now, if this was the REAL world, he'd need to engineer viruses to give his tissue this property, but it's not, so he probably just performed a minor surgery on himself.

I'm not sure what uluru is, but I looked it up on wikipedia, and it said that the Earth rose up when the two leaders of warring tribes both died. Perhaps Sylar and Peter? Peter seems sort of like the anti-Sylar.

I kind of wanted to see the scene where Hiro was trying to give them back the fake sword.

Def. a good one. Loved it when
Claire's mom did the pyro-thing. She's trashy, but that was awesome.

I thought it was far too convenient that Claire's dad is alive, etc. A bit ridiculous.

The rest of the episode was fucking cool though. Bit surprised that Sylar didn't chop up Mr. Bennett, and a bit disappointed in his lack of villainy, too. I've finally got high hopes for Peter fucking Petrelli...maybe he won't be such an emo-gay waste of time any more, maybe he'll let his balls drop and actually be awesome for a change. God knows his power is fucking sweet.

Lol. Maybe it's their awesomeness that brings them all together? :D

Anyway, we are way behind over here. It's only been on for a month or so.

And for Xiph's spoiler... oh god, I'm gonna blow. *skeet*

Peter is much cooler now. In fact, he is now my second favorite, aside from Hiro of course. That shick, that Jessica chick, still gets on my fucking nerves...even more so now.

If they don't do something worthwhile with her after this ep, along with the chunky cop (boring!) then I'm going to be pretty pissed...but I'll still watch it.

    Oh yeah, and
Claire's mom's fire power is awesome. I'll bet she started that damn fire....

Ah damn...and there I had high hopes for Hiro's father being the super villain when
it turns out that he's simply some useless business man looking for his son to save his insignificant, little company. No powers, no special abilities, nothing. Heck, he isn't even evil. So what was the point in sending those vile looking gangster guys to kidnap them?!

And I agree with the rest of you: The ending was horribly lame with Claire's father being...well, who he is.
    Flying + Fire = Regeneration
Schizophrenic Super Strength + Walking Through Walls = Technomancy
So maybe a little Pokemon like breeding is in order :)

On the brighter side, I find myself liking the invisible bum more and more, though I can't always understand what he says with his accent. He's by now probably my favorite hero right after Hiro. If someone can manage to make Peter Petrelli even remotely interesting and acceptable as an character, it's him.

Actually, I'm rather bored by, if not even annoyed at, most of the other characters. By now, when I'm watching the show I wait for:
    a) Hiro to do something
    b) the invisible guy and consequently Peter to do something
    c) Sylar to do something

Everthing else is meh...I bear with the rest just to see the above mentioned, but the whole Sanders plot irks me a lot and really tests my patience. Well, at least I don't have to see the boring cop for a while. Or at least, I hope so.

And in response to the post beneath mine:
Yeah...your views on Claire's mom seem right...probably because they are given facts.

Claire's mom is a(?) pyrokinetic, meaning she can light, control & extinguish fires with her mind. (Pyromancy is the method of divining the future through fire & flames)

Just thought I'd clear that up.

What gets me is that there were numerous clues as to what power she would have (if she did have powers) before it was revealed. Most relevant would be that she apparently died in an explosion, meaning fire. Claire survived either because she was lucky, or because her power kicked in and saved her before it had fully manifested. Chances are Claire's mom did cause the explosion, but its equally likely that she was immune to its effects.

That's my views on Claire's mom, take em or leave em.

The episode itself was pretty cool, Sylar doing the fake out thing ties in to his power of seeing how things work.

If he can control his own body enough to make it die without him actually dieing (which is the best I can word it, unfortunately) then it shows just how advanced he really is.

Personally I quite like Matt, he's quite comic in a way but has his own story that gives him more than a 2d character. Nikki/Jessica's story arc is another human interest thing; it shows how it can affect a whole family, not just the single person, like with Peter.

Micah's power is the one I'd like to have, bar Hiro's of course :D, being able to hack an atm just by touching it is way cool. Kind of like Jake 2.0 now that I think about it...

Hiro is absolutely the best character in the whole show, boyhood innocence mixed with a belief in the Hero's code and the ability to bend time & space make for a great character. Ando's influence is quite funny as well... Poor Ando... Finds his dream stripper but gets knocked back. Funny :D Plus, I want to see how Hiro develops into the guy who stops time on the subway in one of the earlier episodes. Future!Hiro looks kick ass! :D

Can you tell I'm a Hiro fanboy yet? :p

    Aekiel

P.S. Claude looks to be a pretty damned cool character, especially since he's played by Christopher Eccleston and his name seems to be a nod towards The Invisible Man.

The invisible man screams Obi Wan to me, and Peter learning that he can use the powers just by thinking about them was kick ass.

Major mark out moment when Invisi dude punched Peter, I lmfao.

Apparently the guy playing Peter hates the emo hair, and they've agreed to shave him bald for the next season. I wonder if Claire can extend her power to other people, and if Jessica/Nikki is pregnant. Eh, you think that Mind reader's wife's baby is mind-reader's? It's a little weird the way that everyone is related. Next thing you know, Peter & Nathan's dad was immune to disease (instant cell regeneration?) and killed himself because he had lived for centuries.

JJ huh? ah I read that as gossip, so eager am I to hear more about next season.

But yeah, Peter bulked up, shaved, with a goatee would be better. Sylar needs to get more evil, he's been pretty geeky, I was let down when it revealed who he was.

Edit btw make sure you read JJ's large post i spoiler texted, it's pretty damned good.

Nah, Claude is nothing like Obi Wan - Obi Wan was nice. Claude is a right bastard.

I just watched the new episode this morning - bloody hilarious it was.

When Claude pushed Peter off the building was probably the best thing I've ever seen :D Get him pissed off then chuck him off a building to see if he could fly. Classic. And the way he figured out how to use his powers was pretty cool as well. Though he probably should have focused on his brother than his niece :p

Oh that's gonna annoy the Peter/Claire shippers on 9thwonders.com :D:D:D I think I'm falling in love with these writers. I can see it now:

"What plot twist should we add next episode?"
"I dunno, what's the favourite thing on the forums?"
"Seems to be Hiro's dad being Linderman or whether Claire and Peter are going to hook up."
"Let's make them related, that should be amusing."
    "Great idea!" *Evil Grin*

Guess I'll use spoiler also just in case, but I don't think that point is correct. The reason why Peter was able to survive was because he was close to Claire so he could do all the regenerating stuff. He was otherwise dead until she came down and thats when she saw that he was special also.

Okay, honestly, I don't like Hiro all that much. I can't explain why, maybe its has something to do with the fact that I have to read subtitles from a guy with little IQ. I think I like Ando more than Hiro. Hiro has, by far, the greatest power, and at the same time, does not have the qualities of a hero, only knows the qualities of a hero.

I liked Peter in the beginning of the show, for he wasn't as annoying. He seemed like a pretty okay guy, if a little whiny. Don't really care about his haircut, just the fact that he seemed to whine more than he talks now, which does annoy me greatly.

I like Nicky, and for only one reason. I think, eventually, Nicky and her alterego will eventually emerge and will create a kickass character.

Her family isn't really explained enough for me to take much interest though. I did like when Micka(spelling?) took apart that laptop in a moment, hilarious.

I like the cop too, although he wasn't as smart as I thought he was when he did all that threatening to Claire's dad, whos name escapes me at the moment. I figured it would make sense for him to leave and try to figure it out rather than threatening the guy who he thought kidnapped him.

Invisible guy? he's decent enough, definitly like him, but he was also involved in someway with Claire's dad, so I won't commit anything with him.

Nathan, don't like him and I want Claire to kill him, end his life, now, please.

Claire is probably my favorite. Like her ability. like her as an actor. She is obsessed with finding out her family, but I suppose thats only because she wants to know why she can heal almost instantly. I do hope she ends up taking down Sylar in some way.

I had to put this in here: If you didn't read the spoiler I had before, the guy who plays him has an 180+ IQ, so I have to hope that there's a reason for that, beyond him being a great actor.

A little of that might have come out from where he tricked his sister into convincing their father that she was the perfect VP.

    Eh . . . also, mcatrage, I knew that.
But he was pushing his bones in with eerie accuracy, and he didn't freak out when he realized he wasn't dead, he just un-dislocated his shoulder, and returned his formerly broken leg to its rightful location.
    That was my suggestion.
