I disagree, I think he'd have that attitude, but it would manifest in a lot more busywork than we're seeing here. A lot more, like, in depth ISOs of someone he already knows is town.

No, I'm saying he wouldn't. Which is what makes it wolfy. But it's peanuts compared to his overall genuine reactions to stuff, so whatever.

I feel like these points - especially number 1 there - are attempting to sort Vira vs. shade her. Like, the point about those %s being the same, yet still scumreading Scott, is like... it doesn't read like shade. And even like, giving her an out with the "was that an attempt to go into it with an open mind?" thing. What's the wolf motivation to do that? Just like, looking super reasonable?

What game was that? It's kind of a back-burner thing for me, but I might end up checking it out eventually.

Have you met me? 90% of the time I give a read, it's from an ivory tower, to the thread. In general, the last person I'm interested in talking to about a read on a person is that person.

Like, I read the followup about him just doing his own thing, but to me it doesn't seem like a town thing, it seems like an overly-reasonable wolf thing.

Agree with this for the most part, though I do think his comment to fonti about Zack was not really alignment indicative. Like, I don't think Visor has that much trouble making that post as a wolf. It is a good post though.

Here's my copy pasted spiel on Vaimes, frankenstein'd together from a few different places:

On a specific level, Vaimes is a player who enjoys the social aspects of the game more than most; he genuinely hates rolling mafia, especially here. You put any pressure on scum!Von, and he folds like a cheap card table.

Vaimes is NOT a serious mafia player. And I say that with all possible respect. Vaimes is a good mafia player, he's a fun mafia player, and he takes the game seriously. But a serious mafia player? No. You will never see Vaimes of either alignment making a post like you just made. Vaimes is not - and I'm going to use a term I got from yogsloth, whom I hope Azrael remembers fondly - an "analyst nerd." His towngame is curious, engaged, sometimes fluffy, sometimes not, but not... sharp. It has depth, but it doesn't have that kind of gleeful, pointed, "I'm right and I'm going to prove it" sharp scumhunting knife that many of the top players on this site have.

This is somewhat complicated by the fact that Vaimes's meta has kind of undergone a sea change in the last ~5 games or so, but the fundamental point is the same. Reading Vaimes has a lot less to do with the content of his posts than with the forthrightness and steadiness of his tone.

... that's just... really not something I think Vaimes can pull off when someone's in his face, like you were, Visor.
