Woo. 5th Princess finally dropped. After 30 some runs, I had just about given up.

 

I've decided not to roll on Okita (who's imminent according to the comic). I already have Arturia/Alter and Atilla and I'll be rolling hard for Lancelot for my Arts team... That's a lot of Sabers....

Meanwhile my only Lancer of note is Cu.

So, despite knowing Okita is better, I'm probably gonna roll for Scathach instead to fill that role. It helps that the 2030 CE comes with the Scathach banner too apparently.

So I'm counting on you nuggets to roll for Okita. Anyone here planning to?

I'm planning on throwing some tickets at her, but all my quartz is for 2030. Of course, I said the same about the Okeanos banner, and I ended up spending quartz. I also said I would only spend 30 quartz on Tamamo, and I ended up spending 120 getting her.

So what I'm basically saying is that if anyone has the need for a fully functioning kidney... shoot me a PM, we'll work something out.

 

Hilariously, a lot of people seem way more interested in 2030 than Scathach. This will be the banner where they all roll np5 spearwaifu and never see the CE...

 

So I'm planning on spending golden fruits in the Lunatic Party quest until I get the Halloween Princess CE, and it's beginning to sink in how much fruit I'm probably going to be spending on it. I did some quick calculations. Assuming the data on it I've seen is true (that Lunatic Party has a 2% chance of dropping the CE), I could conceivably spend 10 golden fruit (roughly 1300 ap) on this quest, and I'd still only have a 75% chance of getting the CE. Not a fun prospect at all.

 

Meanwhile, using that in Christmas would get you 10 of these packets:

Indeed, potentially hours of grinding a quest for a decent CE, which may not even drop, and never getting much benefit at all versus tons of mats at Christmas. Unless you're a whale/dolphin I do not recommend Reset Farming for a Princess drop.

 

Is it just me, or does that not seem like a lot...?

5x of each of the 'common' mats seems the best? Everything else is basically the stuff from the monthly DaVinci shop fare...

 

To hear tell from JP players, it's the common mats that often halt progress for enhancing servants. Plus, those are the boxes after the first 5.

As someone who's been trying to get one fucking demon heart for the Herc Ascension, I call BS lol

 

Heart is the one gold mat that bottlenecks because now often it is needed. But you have to understand that in JP mats aren't needed for Ascension. They get more than enough for that from the multiple events, which are a lot more than we get thanks to rerun+new event and the events get more generous.

What holds them back is mats for skills. Skills need ridiculous quantities of mats and gems. Drake for example needs more than a hundred bones and fangs and 72 ghost lanterns for her skills.

That's why common mats are what stops them. Like QP, they need sheer insane quantities of them later on.

 

No point farming for it specifically. You're just wasting ap. Work toward cleaning out the shop instead. Skip the Chaldea dailies and spend your ap on Third Stage with full maid/princess, or on the pop-up event quests with maid/princess and a devil support. If it drops from Third Stage - Vlad, great. If it doesn't, you've gotten a truckload of monuments and ascension mats as a consolation prize.

 

Oh, I already cleared out the shop days ago. Yeah, I wouldn't even bother farming for the CE if I didn't already have everything I wanted. Halloween Princess is just really good for my Saber/Waver synergy. I spent all my grails getting Saber to 100, so wasting AP trying to maximize her abilities is something I'm willing to do.

Aside from that, I've already spent 400 AP running Lunatic Party, so if I don't keep going that means all of the AP I've spent until now will be wasted.

 

That's a fallacy actually. And according to FGO discord sheet, the average is 1680 AP per drop.

 

I don't see a fallacy in anything I've said. I spent 400 AP so far trying to get the CE. I'm planning on spending more. If I don't get the CE by the end of the event, that means I wasted the AP I used.

 

That's less a fallacy, and more a description of a certain type of behavior. One which I am currently engaging in, but which I see as worth it if I actually get what I want.

 

That's the thing. You assume it's all or nothing. You assume you're gonna get it or everything wasted, so you keep pouring resources. Ofc you can get it with 600AP. Or 1600. That's four times what you spent here. The real waste isn't the 400. But the 1200 you can spend for the same result based on the premise that not spending them means the 400 were nothing, and not valid attempts.

It's literally gambling logic.

 

Yeah, but HP is broken AF, so if you're gonna gamble on anything, may as well be that.

And it's not like you're coming out empty handed if you 'lose'.
