On Scott's end, it's so... agenda-less. Like that's a post you're making to your partner, early in the game... and you're just like, blowing it off with "hm, maybe gut, idk." Like he's working through it, and... the shade he's throwing Vira's way is so.... convoluted. "I have this whole chain of reasoning that depends on Stanari being scum but if that read changes maybe i"ll look at your posts."

Posts like that to a partner usually feel all posture-y and threatening and this is just so damn open.

I think that's townie because she's still investigating but also not letting a wolfread be TR without knowing why.

"I had no idea how to read him" is also a horrid reason to not ask to explain... if you don't know how to read and someone else has a top town... ask them? How they? Got theirs?

Not for any reason I can pinpoint, but my guts been pretty good this game so might as well say that.

 

I can see it as a scum who has been caught distancing from his teammate and throws out something he remembers from D1, is told that's the wrong timeframe, so he tries some other weak excuse.

Villagers can forget exact timelines too so this isn't particularly convicting.

If scum!Miner feels like he's here, he's been asked about this, he NEEDS to give an answer, he could throw the first excuse out and flail a bit for the second one. Or, scum!Miner could've just peaced for the night and dealt with it after he could consider his fake answer.
