At the risk of setup gaming - yeah ok nevermind this is straight setup gaming.

Messenger / Day Reporter type roles are things Eido and I have put into games (like American Gods) before to give town kind of like, "vanity roles" when we wanted to fluff their PR count without really giving them more actual power.

So like, Cuth is 100% this role. On balance I'd say it's a little more likely that it's a town role, in an Eido setup.

However, and this is a big however, with this playerlist, specifically myself and Proph in this game, I also pretty strongly feel like there are at least a few red herring / anti setupgaming type things. Tasiah being 3 shot mafia Doc or whatever is a pretty classic Eido thing, so that's not it.

So.. not really sure this moves the needle for me on Cuth.

I kind of instinctively want to townread the manner in which he went about talking about his role usage? Like, there was zero attempt to justify the people he'd targeted or argument that he'd used his ability in a protown way, which like. I kind of think there would be, if he's a wolf and claimed for cred?

Man that post feels so hard for me to make heads or tails of.

"If I was TRing Stan I would think this, but I SR her so I thought that" like yeah it makes sense put that way, that Scott approached the situation based on what his read of Stan was at the time. And then judged Stan's reaction and took it into account, weakening his scumread.

I... really don't know if it's significant he didn't put "if Stan was town" cause I think the post does make sense the way he spoke of it in terms of "Stan's actions were viewed through my SR lens, but still looked town."

Went over this a bit, I don't think there's really a strong conclusion on either side. Yes it's a role we've had a fair amount of. It's more often a town role IIRC. Yes, Voxx would definitely make it a scum role this game, partially for the lulz.
