I've been playing Trails of Cold steel recently for pc

It's pretty solid. Great world building

Imagine persona fused with final fantasy.

Very solid

 

A lot of awesomeness at Sony's PGW showcase.

Main highlight, Sucker Punch's new game being an open World Samurai Tenchu.

Take my money. Now.

New Spiderman stuff too and I'm super excited about the Peter Parker (out of costume) heavy aspect to the game.

Concrete Genie also looks beautiful.

I've been on a huge SW kick lately, but I resisted the urge to buy SWBF2. Instead, I bought the original, since my original xbox copy was lost during moving. It's a better game anyways, and has held up remarkably well.

I really wish you could crossplay PSP games on the PS4 by buying them on the store. Then you could just buy PSP games for the actually useful console.

Also, if this is the same war as the first and third games and you're still fighting as Gallia, it might feel a bit forced.

Still, I'm definitely hype.

I tried out Lineage 2 Revolution due to all the hype on mobile forums.

What an absolute trashfest of an RPG. Pure pay to win, virtually zero free incentives, nonstop auto-afk-grinding, no real story so to speak, and no class progression beyond grinding up your stats. The only real difference between this and every other crap Korean p2w mmo clone is the graphics.

No fucking thanks.

 

The only reason it's getting hype is because the company funded a massive ad campaign and recruited most of the top streamers on Twitch to play the game for a few hours every day.

It's actually kind of funny to watch the shift. Five 'o clock comes around and suddenly Hearthstone on Twitch drops to a couple thousand viewers because all the top streamers on there switch over to Lineage for their contractually obligated streaming time.

 

So, I have never played world of tanks, or world of battleships. But I do occasionally get shown ads for those games, and man, they are some of the best adds I've seen. Simple and to the point. I don't game anymore, apart from the occasional game of dota, but if I did, these ads would inspire me to give that game a go.

 

Anyone play or know if the Hyperdimension Neptunia Rebirth 1-3 bundle is worth getting? Or should I rather go for Tales of Bersaria?

Looking for a JRPG atm and not really feeling the Persona games right now.

If you’re looking for more fantasy/light hearted I’ll second Trails of Cold Steel again.

Amazing world building. Solid characters.

 

I love the persona games in general, I just get tired of the dungeons and it's hard to get back into them after I took a break.

 

My friend played Berseria. Full disclosure, I swore off Tales games after Xillia. He still liked them though. He's been a big fan, Vesperia being his fav - he's got a massive man crush on Yuri, lol.

How immediate is your need? Ni no Kuni 2 is soon. Don't know much else, I'm pretty sour on non FF/Persona jrpgs these days.

Xenoblade is supposed to be good.

 

Neptunia, from what I've seen, is just a lot of parody humor, and not the high quality sort. So if you're looking for story to be important, I might pass on that one.

Yeah. It gets laid on pretty thick, and it feels like a low-effort crack-fic at times. Straight into every possible anime cliche they can fit in, as well, with every character being an archetype.

 

Well, the consoles I have available are PC and my nintendo DSi. Need isn't as big anymore, since I'm hoping to write more again but I would like to play a JRPG on the side. The Neptune thing I considered because it is cheaply on sale atm and I have heard mostly good things about Bersaria, which is incidentally also on sale.

Ni no Kuni 2 is something I might consider a few years later, when it is on sale, can't drop 60€ for a game atm.

Also playing with the thought of getting one of the FFXIII games, if Square ever gets another sale again.

 

Trails of Cold Steel is more akin to final fantasy. More of a railroad with encounters than dungeons

Keeps the social link dynamic and potential romance
