Tell me about it. People got butthurt over the Junkrat short because it played the didgeridoo in the background, labeling it culturally insensitive.

What? I thought he was literally half-caste. Or is that culturally insensitive these days?

I think it had nothing to do with the characters and their heritage, more the fact they played the didgeridoo, it's unique to the Australian aboriginals, ergo how dare blizzard they are culturally insensitive. Wasn't a big outcry but there were some shit posts here and there about it, the type you scroll over.

-.- . Ten bucks says the moaners didn't know it's unique to a single tribe of Australian Aboriginals. They're being culturally insensitive for attributing it to all Aboriginals.

I am getting fucking sick and tired of all these Mercy nerfs. I just want "heroes never die" Mercy back at this point.

It's why I stop playing her after rework.

I still do because I love her , although I am playing the game considerably less on a whole but man, are those changes infuriating and offputting. Really hope they stop listening to only the loud DPS crowd at some point and start buffing the other healers to give more options for people who actually like playing support.

Quite like the idea that Zen gets a few healing orbs or that Lucio gets a bigger radius to heal but the further away you are, the lesser the heal is. Stuff like that and not to make things progressively worse and worse for Mercy players.

So what modes do all of you like outside of comp and quickplay if you even like those? Ignoring those modes because I solo play, I prefer the arcade modes that are single hero only. Aka everyone is doomfist, everyone is mei, everyone is genji, eveyrone is <insert hero here> etc.

I feel like in single hero arcade modes there is no excuses. You don't have teammates that raise your skill level above your own level because of teamwork, you don't have your preferred hero compared to others who might be playing outside of their preffered spec to fill the team gap.

It's just you vs the world... insert 'aladdin I'll show you the world gif' here.

I also like CTF except that is never on the daily rotation... F U Blizz.

Mode is irrelevant for me, I just like using the heroes.

I barely comp any more though. People ruin everything.

I usually play quickplay, competitive of free for all. Rarely use the other modes. Generally play tank or healer on the former two while I mainly go for Pharah in the latter, really fun to use her there.

Anyone following Overwatch league, btw? Watched a few matches and overall, rather hit and miss. Some matches were really fun while others were snooze-fests.

I had the stream going in the background while I worked. It made for good background noise that I could tune in and out on, but I don't remember there being anything particularly compelling about it. There were certainly some good highlights, but the commentators were meh at best and the gameplay had some occasional exciting moments, but most of the matches were lopsided enough that they just weren't interesting.

The only unequivocally good match I remember was this one Junkertown match between the LA Valiant and Dallas that went into like triple overtime. That one was pretty exciting, but the rest were largely just some flavor of curbstomp and it just wasn't all that engaging.

The best game I saw (haven't watched them all, they usually air at 1 or 3 in the morning for me) was on Anubis, between Dynasty and Dallas Fuel, I think. That might be worth a match, but yeah, it wasn't exactly grand television, agree on that.

Honestly, not really invested in any of the teams or players, but dunno, still watched a few matches and didn't regret doing so. The commentators are meh, but honestly, the last time i tried watching Overwatch esports, the commentators nearly made me kill myself so I couldn't stomach them for more than five minutes. Going from atrocious to meh is a pretty good improvement.

Seoul is the best team by a country mile, followed by London (because that's 2 older Korean teams slammed together).

Like most e-sports, it's basically "find the team with the most koreans and that's the winner".

The leauge can almost be split into three. With Seoul, London, NY, Dallas and LA Valiant better than everyone else. Shanghai and Florida much worse than everyone else and then there's everyone else who might cause an upset against a non-Korean team but have no chance of winning the leauge themselves.

I can't comment on the other teams since I haven't watched them play yet but I watched the Shanghai-Florida match up today and I got to say I couldn't believe I was watching professional teams. Maybe they were both having shit games, I don't know. Teamwork wise sure they were way better than your average high end comp, but skill wise? Some of the shots these people were missing were unbelievable, definitely not on par for what I would expect of pro players.

In saying that the only pro games I have seen were in the world cup, so maybe the standard is meant to be less? But in saying that in this league there is less teams than the world cup so you would think the quality should be higher. I don't know.

I'll have to check some of the other games out to compare this one to.
