I'm doing a similar thing though? Like I very much see ez world where both my scum reads are right on Koalas/Waco and all my weak town reads are correct and I haven't had a read wrong all game!! But I'm trying to take this slower and make sure that I'm only locking reads in that I'm confident are correct (Which was just you before and Vaimes is there now) rather than just every read I get and then find out I locked in some that were wrong later in the game and that I pushed myself down the wrong path.

Wouldn't mind hearing your thoughts on DC's post; I'll pull out the parts I like there and talk about it a bit in my break in a few hours but just quick thoughts between now and then would be nice.

Sure. The short version is that everything everyone else said was scummy about beru I can understand partly as part of their meta (i.e. only semi-serious, a little "all over the place"), but also as a reaction to mine. In particular the sardonic commentary about me faceplantng D1 reads less as "slimy and trying to get me lynched" and more as "poking at my meta in a sarcastic way"

Other than that, there's several instances of mindmelding with #295 being the most notable for our purposes: I think Waco is scum and #295 is not beru attacking a scumbuddy, they point out the same sort of "more interested in lynching Gemma than finding her alignment" thing I noticed, and they invoke Vaimes's meta as well when making the point. Something about the way they're using meta from multiple players (themself, me, Vaimes) to reach conclusions I agree with just rings town to me.

Plus I've noticed a fair bit of low-key townwork, I think? Fuzzier on this but the impression I got was of doing investigation without being overly concerned with being seen to be doing investigation.

 

I'm pretty sure that the absence of Beru and Gemma Just Troll Fonti For 1000 Posts rules out that team anyway, besides anything else.

 

Oh yeah, and my notes have reminded me of #196 where they say they "just need to find two more town". That feels like a very towny way to look at it.

 

Thanks for the explanation there DC, would agree with /most/ of that actually with the exception being the "Find two more town" felt slightly awkward and showy when done there but remember Fonti saying that sort of thing isn't hugely AI. You actually opened up Vaime's ISO and tried to get a read on him that manner yet or just a read through of the thread? If you haven't I wouldn't mind seeing your thoughts/conclusion on him after ISO'ing him.

Yeah had questions regarding how early you had Beruru townblock but 569 kind of explains it. You put way more emphasis on meta then I like but I can't really argue it. Better question would be how much interaction do you expect between me and Waco with his stellar thread involvement?

Koalas where is your head at right now? What are you thinking and feeling about the gamestate? What do you want to do? What are you trying to do?

You're being widely scumread here so if you're town you need to be doing more than being what feels like effectively "huh? What's going on?"

 

Heads in my interview honestly. Gamestate is.. roughly what I'd expect. The amount of overlap in the player base leading to a really tight town core and a looser town circle after that PoE for the win. From just looking at how things play out seems like it'll be more effective then usual based on the smaller game size. I've been isoing because locking in one looser read or knocking it down will be huge in this game.

I don't feel like I'm actually being scumread? I'm in the usual poe spot for sure but that's more the people who know how to read me are a lot quieter then the doubters. The scumreads I've actually paid attention to are either stretching on their tiptoes or seem to be arguing from a conclusion. So after my interview sit down for the solid 8ish hours before deadline and spoonfeed you mindset till you can see where I'm coming from.

Not so much that as I'd expect SOME kind of engagement or acknowledgement. Like, quoting his stuff and commenting on why you disagree with it, or asking pointed questions to highlight areas where his conclusion differs from yours, that sort of thing. Not answering questions for him or from him for someone else, though, no.

 

Thank you. I love being spoonfed. What you need to keep in mind is that fmpov if you're town then there is very likely mafia in Beru/dC/Jan, all of whom I am townreading to some degree here. And if Waco is town as well then you're looking at mafia in fonti/Reg.

So I can understand the interview taking precedence for you here and we'll it should, but I don't think you should be feeling complacent at all. If either fonti or Reg are scum here I'm not lynching them today, I'm dying tonight, and they're almost always endgaming.
