What? For "Judge prevents Last Gasp" to be an actually relevant piece of information the Judge kill has to happen before night starts which means the witch does not get to use soup.

Also ignoring mechanics until lategame is how I lost my last two hunts to soup/oblits >_>

Anyway. Scum isn't in {Cobalt/font/Gemma/Newcomb/Tom/Vaimes/dC/Jan/Waco} which leaves {Asmodeus/Shadowlancer/Stanari/Jarizok} with Shadowlancer/Stanari/Jarizok losing immediately and Asmodeus teams losing tomorrow. I could maybe see one in, like, {font/Gemma} or something, but most of the interesting decisions are for people who AREN'T in the PoE.

I mean, it doesn't help that we can't exactly pressure anyone until the lynch target actually becomes open-ended either.

    Actually let's clarify that

MODQUESTION: If Judge activates and hits a witch, is that witch able to use soup that night?

(also yes I know I'm probably wrong about one or two things but, like.

This isn't the correct environment to assess those in, due to "but it's probably just that other guy" issues)
    --- Post automerged ---
(oh also I don't feel like jockeying with the bajillion other obvtown players to try and string together coherent play so I kind of wanna just let y'all do your thing. Think someone said "too many personalities" earlier, yeah?)

dC, like 99.9% sure you're correct about the judge, the issue is we can't be sure the judge is alive, and if the judge is dead, Shadow lives to try and soup toNight

No, I mean in the case where we don't get a Judge activation.

ohhhhh, okay, that makes way more sense. So it's just that the failure penalty is higher than I was estimating.

Right, right, yeah okay and then in the case that Stanari WAS Judge they get a free soup shot AFTER LEARNING STANARI IS JUDGE which is stupid dangerous b/c they might get extra KP and even if not they get to hypothesis test and the end result is probably that if we're not precisely on target we end up getting souped in endgame.

Okay yeah that's a stupid plan never mind.

The TMI chain of dc>jari>thug really ought to tell me something...

Actually I think DCs jari "progression" aka TMI that hes town>oh better leave a vote on him is one of the scummiest things to happen this game.
It's a pretty shallow read, and DC did end up on shadow lynch, but it's a Thing That Happened

Kinda think witch!tom pockets me rather than using me as, like, a long-term prepared mislynch or whatever he'd be doing here.

Also kinda think that if he WAS doing a long-term prepared mislynch thing he'd be leaving it in cold storage rather than yelling about it constantly. What this is going to do is unless he's planning to use me as the XYLO lynch he'll probably end up taking the fall for it when the game fails to end.

Like, I'd be more inclined to say Vaimes is setting me up than he is.

Also also there's kind of a huge mismatch between his play here and in Halftime.

Also also also I got the impression from D1 that he's not w/w with either Asmodeus OR Stanari (less so Stanari) and it seems unlikely that both those two are town.

Prooooobably not a partner read? It's a lot of general nonspecific villagery stuff with one specific thing thrown in at the end. Feels kind of going-through-the-motions / careless, which... eh, hard to see that at a partner.

Vaguely want to say this is +town for dC as it kind of reminds me of the way shadow was trying to do this "meta scum preference" thing with my copypasta, i.e. a bunch of words that break down to an incredibly banal point.

Eh. You shoulda seen shadow just carefree pocketing me while we caught the shit out of anak/wheat/nacho in 4 horsemen on mtgs. His whole team was gone by d3 and he was just, there. Being townier than huntzilla ftw

Bouncing back to the conversation fonti and I were having about Waco earlier, I think this is further evidence for the unalignment. I think the pings at the top are somewhat important. If the prickly/over the top distancing attacking each other was The Plan, then Waco's kind of adding a new chapter to the book by taking his case to the streets and trying to really shove in on his partner. Like... it's not impossible, it's just super super nuance / high effort for bussing a partner on D1 of a no flips game.

I mean this game he was caught by like 5 people on D1, so...

I don't put a huge amount of stock into that particular read, and I'm trying to put less stock into spew overall just in general, but if your point is that he has really amazing wolf skills, then I guess my question is why did they show up this, uh, asymmetrically this game?

There's also the original point about Waco, about him just presenting the posts with minimum explanation and expecting people to get the obvious. If he was bussing Shadow, he likely would have wanted to get more credit for his push by giving a stronger, original explanation.

That's a fair point as well.

The Waco/shadow stuff taken as a whole would definitely be more "hard bus" than distance, and I don't really feel like Waco ever did something that felt like trying to grab cred.

    Still reading D1, though.

Wow it's somehow midnight-:30 though. Daylight savings time always screws me up.

Gonna have to continue this tomorrow, night all.

Dlp is a different animal than mtgs. And it's a different skillset.
I've actually never seen him do well in short phases, as either alignment.
Not terrible or anything, bit he hasn't figured out how to port his skills yet.

But specifically just looking at a partner and treating them like he feels they deserve is a microskill that doesn't need adapting.
It's not an actively w/w thing, but at minimum put even less stock in that one in particular.

    Hm, interesting point. Noted.

What’s your take on the Waco/Shadow stuff, given the above?

    @Newcomb

I really just have extremely bad luck with going after priests in D1 of my tinyhunts here, don't I.
