Thank y'all for the kind words. Shadow's 14 and recently developed a tumor on her belly, and we're afraid it's going to be cancer like her sister Sass developed a decade ago. We had to put Sass down after the initial operation did not stop it from returning, and their older brother Pep a few years later for kidney failure. We won't know more until we can get Shadow to her vet on Monday, and if worst comes to pass, we may have to put her down as well.
