I'm assuming it's going to be the cheating mechanic itself that gets the hit, not VL or Doomguard. VL is fine on 9 mana, it's the 5 mana Recruit (and the unstoppable 6 mana heal 8 combo) that's the problem. Lackey's probably going to get bumped upwards.

I'm honestly fine with them being fantastic antiaggro with early VL, especially now that N'Zoth is gone.

It's the Doomguards behind the wall that are nasty.

Doomguards being changed to Rush is a really cool idea! I wouldn't mind the weapon losing a durability each time it summons either.

Yeah, they wouldn't make a HoF rotation in the middle, they were pretty adamant about that. Gotta be a nerf to the mana cheating component, hopefully.

Why this talk about nerfing? Most everybody assumed Lackey would suck since it was 5 mana 2/2. Skull not activating at the end of the turn meant it would see no play at all. Least we all forget that 1 mana destroy a friendly for 8 health would be useless cause no one ran the 0 mana heal 4 card.

All it took for these shit cards to be God-Tier was a Cube.

Honestly, I think the initial tepid reaction to DK, lackey and skull had more to do with no one foreseeing a demon lock deck with so few demons.

Seems bizarre, looking back on it.

I don't want cube nerfed. It's an awesome mechanic.

In the context of the release, Warlock was horrible. It wasn't played in any way before that expansion because they had no healing. No one was playing Warlock and people weren't exactly excited to experiment with a class that had been near the lowest tier for months.

The problem with warlock is the healing.

The 6 mana voidlords would be fine if they couldn't heal for 20+ behind it.

They need to remove one of the heals from lock. Preferably the incredibly overpowered deathknight one (6 health differential ugh) and replace it with the standard upgraded warlock tap.

While I do agree that the DK warlock hero power is pretty dumb (even if, on the whole I don't think it's a real problem), replacing it with the standard no-damage tap is so incredibly boring. If you really wanna nerf it, make it work like the old Warlock pet health-sharing abilities in WoW, where the power is either a passive "Whenever your hero takes damage, deal half of the damage to a random friendly demon instead" or "Deal 1 damage to a friendly demon, heal your hero for twice the damage dealt", something like that. Really incentivize the whole demon-lock thing and the synergies with resurrecting a full board of demons when you play it.

I prefer the method of giving other classes powerful control/fatigue tools to counter warlock. Kingsbane, Shadderwock/Hagatha, basically infinite Hadronox etc.

Warrior could do with a better one imo, but I haven't played with quest enough to say that for sure.

I've been struggling to beat the Witchwood with the fucking Tracker for almost three days now in my spare time.

There was always something going wrong. Either I didn't get the treasure that made the hero power 1 mana and let me use it twice, or I didn't get the big green men. All of these were were reruns. I would often die to the asshole who made everything cheaper and dropped the Druid quest legendary and a million huge dudes before my green men could get going. I would also often die to the asshole that has a 4mana card that spawns a million 1/1s and then another 1mana card that destroys those to steal THE SAME AMOUNT OF MINIONS FROM MY SIDE so all my green men would suddenly not be mine and I'd die the next round.

Of course random deaths to other less stupid bosses from a lot stupider circumstances. And if I only ever got pieces, but not everything I needed early on, I'd waste tons of time getting up to and then promptly dying to say, encounter 7-8.

Whenever I survived all that shit, the motherfucking Captain Shivers would slap the fucking shit out of me.

Now, understand that if even hoped to make it to Shivers with my plan, majority of my deck would be sub 5mana, with the exception of her Golem-ness herself. I had a ton of low cost mana, and with the treasures I get I could use a ton of those over very few turns if given the chance. However, I had zero taunts and zero healing. Shivers' ever-growing fucking dick of a sword ignores everything I put up and killed me well before my big green men could actually get big.

I'd reached the point of getting no fucking joy from it and feeling worse trying to grind it out than doing my actual fucking job, or chores, or whatever else. It was a lot of things but not fun. I must have slammed my head against Shivers well over a dozen times, and dozenS trying to get the right fucking loadout to even REACH the bastard.

And the fucking asshole breaks the sword, shuffling it back to his deck, and plays fucking Fel Reaver.

    Fel.

    Fucking.

    Reaver.

I milled his entire deck (including that fucking accursed sword) in a single round. I killed him two turns after that with my green men.

What the actual fuck. What a fucking letdown. It's like fighting my nemesis for literal eons only for him to trip over his feet and land face-first on a rock, dying instantly. There was zero joy in beating that either because I know IT'S NOT BECAUSE OF ANYTHING I DID RIGHT but I also know that I'm never fucking playing that shit again in a million fucking years.

I may have killed Captain Shivers but he has won, and he has won for eternity. Forever. The final, complete victory over me.

    I am upset.

Yeah, I had something similar for my first victory with Toki. I always really struggled against the guys you were talking about (druid quest legendary and bag of gnomes), and then finally I got to the last boss, myself, and I can't remember how, but in the first 2-3 turns, I somehow got such an unstoppable advantage that there was no way I could lose the game, no matter what. It was very upsetting. I haven't touched it since.

Technically a buff to Odd Paladin? :p

This looks about right overall IMO. Spiteful Drood will still be annoying, but we’ll see how it turns out.

I’m playing recruit Hunter right now and having a lot of fun and decent success. Might also go back to my Quest Drood once these changes hit.

Also, just throwing this out there; I don’t think I’ve ever played Naga Sea Witch or had it played against me. Lel.

Odd paladin can only use it to summon 1 drops, which is quite a big difference.
Naga Sea witch is in wild, it's part of the league of explorers set, however once it went to wild they changed how it worked, so you started seeing it with giants.

Even the quest rogue nerf is pretty big. Spreading Plague and Voidlords became a lot more awkward to kill. And Flamestrike.

    But it's a hard-counter to Priest.

I mean, yeah, but not because 4 attack. Anduin and Death weren't winning you games against QR.

QR still hard counters control, but that was never the issue. The issue is not being able to interact or counter play.

Hard counters are allowed, such as Burn Mage against all my fun rogue decks :(

I've been playing kiblers priest. I'm soooo happy there is a viable quest priest deck.

It must be the best feeling in the world to out Hadranox a taunt druid. Just had a game that ended with me having 4 lich kings and 3 hadranoxes on the board. While having 40 hp and something like 40 armor.

It's like steal priest has finally come good.
