Hopefully now we can finally Soma and the rest in E-10 seats, though I'm curious who will be actually be part of that. I suppose Erina will take the first seat? I expect she will, if for no other reason than they wouldn't allow Soma to go that far that quickly.

I'm glad this is over. Hopefully Azami and take Rindou and vanish. Tsukasa at least genuinely believed and had motivations. Rindou is just fan service and plot devices.

Yeah, Rindou is the problem. /sarcasm

I've defended SnS for so long from the absurdity. The ecchi shit just punctuates how delicious each dish is etc.

There was a great gag in this chapter, with Soma acknowledging Erina ripping him off, but I could barely appreciate it through all the violent cringing.

The undressing/ecchi is a sometimes funny (if massively overused) metaphor that could be replaced by any sort of reaction and be realistic enough. It doesn't affect plot in itself, its a gag that results from plot.

In contrast to that, yes Rindou is the problem because she's a terrible fucking character that people like because she has a canine, a 'quirk' and big fucking tits and zero reason beyond that.

It started as massively overused, then they turned it into magic by acknowledging it in universe. As for Rindou? I'm not gonna even bother. You can take your war to some other corner of the internet that actually cares enough about a hot side character who has barely been developed yet.

Egads. The fallout from this is as bad as the arc itself was. Those two don't belong in the posts they've just been given, at least not yet. I hope Tsukuda has a good plan for this, or else this manga is going even deeper into the shitter very quickly.

    What.

No seriously, this is just pure fantasy land territory now.

I guess Tsukasa, Rindou and the ramen guy and the rest will fight their way back to the elite ten...? Or were they expelled since they lost or something? I've completely forgotten. I'd have accepted Nakiri as first seat, Souma in top three and the rest whatever, but this was... guess we need to see how it really turns up in a few chapters. I wouldn't put it past the author to have people lose some shokugekis off-screen and drop ranks or something.

I don't imagine they'll bother or even be able to. They're not expelled afaik, but keep in mind that we're almost literally at the end of the school year. Eishi, Rindou and other sitting Third Years are on the eve of graduating. No real motivation on any side to try to get them back into the E10 at this juncture. They'll likely be thankful enough to not be expelled at the last second, and won't do anything to rock the boat before getting their degrees.

I'm not even mad. This is the best joke I've heard in a while.

Right. This place is a school in the end, not an institution ruling the world (I think I forgot). They'll be graduating. Makes sense.

The manga probably could have ended right there. It wasn't a bad summary.

Part two after a timeskip, huh. New foes outside of Tootsuki who are threatening the school? I suppose this becomes a sort of Tootsuki vs. the world arc, where various groups and other schools are challenging Tootsuki, and the elite ten (like all main characters at this point?) have to fight them. A logical progression, and I don't hate it. Just... Souma's the first seat, yet he's still somewhat the underdog protagonist.

Wasn't Tootsuki like the hegemon of the cooking world, though? The best, most influential school whose graduates are elite of the elite? Who's supposed to challenge them, some randoms the author is now making up to keep the series going?

It was, and I suppose still is. But that doesn't mean that everyone else in the world is happy with that, and we've now seen two successive regime changes in less than a year that have ended with a fifteen year old kid left holding the reins. I wouldn't think it out of the question for the sharks to start circling at the moment. To outside observers, Tootsuki would surely appear to be ripping itself apart at the seams right now. What better time for any person/group that wants to take a shot at the king to step up?

Rome was master of the world too, until it wasn't.

They're second years now, which puts her in the 16-17 yo bracket doesn't it? First years being 15-16 etc.

    It's totally different...

Maybe. I'm not exactly certain, now that I think about it. I had thought that first years would be 14-15. Still, I don't think that one year would make too much difference to an adult's perspective.

Stop worrying about it. The moment Erina became 'headmistress', is the moment after which it is no longer possible to take this series seriously.

So enjoy it for what it is. Foodporn with softcore actual porn.

I never took it too seriously to start with, and I think it was at its best when it didn't try to take itself seriously either. And then we had the whole Azami saga.

Yeah, the Azami arc made SnS go from one of my all-time favs to one of the biggest disappointments. I'm hoping this next arc has the E10 going around like hitmen and cooksassinating Erina's enemies. I'd be down for that, lol.

Odd. SnS never did anything that I imagine would make it an all time fav/one of all time fav to anyone.

Also is it just me, or did the tone of the series feel jarringly off this chapter. Souma was acting quite out of character as well.

For me it was all Souma. I've never liked a protag more in any anime/manga.
