Honestly my answer to this is yes but that's why every game people get mad at me for not really having reads until near the end of d1 and every game I have to tell people to deal with it.

also I actually do have a semi-serious metascum read on him at the moment, I don't really trust it for reasons I outlined earlier but I'm recalling his behaviour in the practice champs game and it feels...different to this.

Which I could be totally projecting here but when I've scum read someone in a previous game and they got annoyed by it or perturbed, which gemma was, and I am again, I feel bad and tend to be apologetic about it because I don't want them to be offended. So I yeah like this.

And I only was scum like once. Maybe twice!

There are certain people who like claiming scum as scum just so they can go "I told you so" in postgame.
But .. for a good amount of people claiming scum means little for their alignment. And there are some that would never do it as scum because they would be afraid that people might push them for it.
