Humm, I also think fluff's progression does track alright. Like he goes from asking about the vote, to getting an answer, to presumably checking it out himself, to voting. He also clearly checked my post count thing and read that, because he just referenced it. That doesn't mean it's a town progression, obviously, but the progression is still clear and Cobalt not getting that is pretty bullshit.

The best I can come up with considering his limited content (which is a tell for him) is that he's tonally pure and reminiscent of town fluff.

There's also that^ interaction with Cobalt. Scum fluff is much more concerned about confrontations and prefers to "read" people rather than "fight/call out” people.

How do you feel about newcomb?

 

Not really. Like I said, the animosity stuff is OOG stuff, so it's not really related to his alignment. If he's mafia, he's pissed off at me because I caught him (he probably thinks for wrong reasons) and prevented him from coasting and interacting with friends freely before his alignment became obvious. If he's town, he's pissed off at me because I'm misreading him and prevented him from relaxing and interacting with friends freely because I made his alignment less obvious. He's just pissed off at me because he doesn't like me and that's about it.

Back in the game where he was mafia and I was town he had similar emotional problems and lashed out at me at times and I townread it because I thought he wouldn't ever do that as mafia. But fonti and he both told me that it wasn't alignment indicative and it wasn't.

My read on him is more about the way he did it and how I think it maybe makes a bit more sense as town for him to have had a few specific thoughts and to have expressed them in a specific way. Only game-related stuff, in other words. It's hard to read into though.

I'll add, miner, that I'm not sure how valid your points are against him, and I don't believe he was at a spot there where he should have been townreading you. The process bit, about him just kind of dropping the vote instead of committing to something is a point and finding a way to vote is probably one of the harder things for scum!newcomb. But, I'm not sold on it. I'd like to think and watch him.
