Very thorough video. I'm convinced it's Hammerfell.

Not gonna lie, having not yet watched the video, I'm kinda baffled how someone could extrapolate anything of substance from the ten second video clip that's literally all we have to go on about the game. This is either going to blow my mind or convince me this guy is a lunatic unable to differentiate between reality and fantasy; middle ground just doesn't seem possible for this.

Edit: Okay, watched it, and I've gotta admit, the guy makes a good argument for Azra's Crossing being the ruin in the clip, even if he made that argument about fifteen times before he considered it done. The rest of it is less so, with some of his evidence being shaky at best, but the first bit alone is enough for a tentative conclusion, so I've gotta give him that much.

Nah. It's just more implausible and shaky evidence supporting a conclusion that doesn't make much sense on further examination.

For example, he points out a set of mountains in the distance of the trailer and says "Those have snow, so they must be the Jeral mountains just south of the Reach in Skyrim", despite the fact that, if he's right about the camera angle and positioning, the mountains he's pointing at are literally on the opposite side of Hammerfell from Skyrim. Or how he points at the 3 extensions from the coast out into the water to determine the location, but ignores the fourth that juts out in the distance.

The only good argument he makes is the whole bit he opens with re: Azra's Crossing, and that one's definitely solid enough I'd be willing to accept it as decently likely, but the rest of the video is dubious at best.

Small info about Elder scrolls 6 in Elder Scrolls 25 year anniversary trailer, looks like they will be using using photogrammetry for The Elder Scrolls 6 world

As everyone knows, Bethesda confirmed Elder Scrolls VI in 2018 and recently there's been a flurry of supposed leaks that some claim are verified and authentic while others claim are outright fakes.

Starfall has still has to release and I think everyone recognises that TESVI is still a good few years away but I thought it might be fun to have a thread where we bounce around speculation, expectations and our wishes for the next installment.

Too early for a thread like this? Not really. TES is one of the most successful in the gaming industry and I'm sick of reading through Reddit threads when I could read a DLP thread.

First of all, Bethesda have a rolling trademark for the name "Redfall" but there have been claims that the game is definitely not called Redfall. Where do you stand on this?

As for hopes? I want to see a more fleshed out version of Hearthside and the settlements from Fallout4.

Imo, settlements were a big disappointment while I enjoyed the base system of Hearthside. Hoping that Bethesda will have used the experience gained to improve and refine the idea of town building and improvement.

What do you want to see?

EDIT: Made a thread only to see there was already one up a while back. Thanks for the merge.

Historically Elder Scrolls games were a safe bet - the name was practically synonymous with quality.

These days, given Bethesda's recent troubled releases - copious bugs, poorly considered concepts, micro-transactions, etc - I don't think we can just assume that ES6 will be a good game.

Personally I am much more excited about Balder's Gate 3 coming from Larian Studios.

People also expected that Anthem was gonna be great because of the developer's name. But, just as Dragon Age Origins and Anthem are essentially from different epochs of humanity in video game time, it's the same for Skyrim and FO76.

After the absolute garbage fire that was Fallout 76 I lost what faith I had in Bethesda. After the recent treatment of Mick Gordon at the hands of Bethesda I don't think I can support them at all. I'll wait until it actually releases and there are actual reviews out. Even then, it'll have to be really good before I consider buying it with Bethesda's label attached.

As for hopes and dreams? A new and better engine, no micro-transaction shenanigans, a lot less bugs than usual, better and upgraded combat, better NPCs and less clunky writing.
It probaply won't happen so it'll stay a dream.

Isn't Starfield coming out before ESVI though? That game will be a good measure of what we can expect from current Bethesda for ESVI.

To be honest, I have more faith in the Beyond Skyrim modding team than I do Bethesda right now. Might not be as pretty, but I feel they’ll give us a better Hammerfell/High rock than Bethesda.

I'm more looking forward to what the next take is. If there's any focus on Hammerfell at all I'm expecting there to be Sword Singers making a comeback, which would be interesting. I'm a massive ES Lore nerd too so the new books they add in will make for some nice reading.

I still have faith in bethesda. Fo76 was a bad look but I personally enjoyed fallout 4 for what it was and while I don't want TES to go in the exact same direction it still doesn't fill me with dread like it does others.

Personally I'd like them to flesh out the companion and romance systems out more to give the world more personality.

    Safe bets:
The blades will be back, and you will join them. You'll be able to buy homes. The mages guild will be a dominant force. Magic system is going to get a massive upgrade.

    Speculation:
Where the last game was civil war themed, this one I suspect will be dealing with a resident empire that has thrown off the elven yoke. Now there tables have turned and elves are refugees.

Depends on time frame. I could see the reverse. The aldmeri dominion has chipped away at the majority of the empires holdings. The empire is cracking.

Both it and the altmer are engaged in a Cold War over different areas.

I would like to see stronger NPCs and romance systems. And a stronger story in general.

Bethesda has its strengths, and those are mostly in making Bethesda games, of which Fallout 4 is the most preeminent example. Poor story, mediocre to okay gameplay, okay atmosphere, and pretty good exploration. I expect this game to have story about on par with Skyrim, and if they can manage that without excising all RPG elements via a vis Fallout 4s dumbed down leveling system, then they could have another pretty good game on their hands. Nothing that's likely to be able to compete with Cyberpunk or The Witcher, but a good experience if what you're looking for is a Bethesda game. Hopefully they don't fuck it up. That FO76 Wastelanders is apparently pretty okay is a good indicator that they might not.

I just want a game where I can go, "Actually, I'm not going to work for you, I'm going to work for myself and take over." None of these fetch quests for Jarls and lords when you could be the one running the show. ES:V should have had a third route where you could take over Skyrim.

I think the fundamental difference between TES and Fallout is that TES is Bethesda and Bethesda is TES. It's their favourite child and the one IP you can be confident that they will not risk fucking up.

Fucking up TES6 would be a blow to Bethesda that they'd struggle to return from.

I wouldn't prematurely judge TES6 on Starfield either as it's very different teams working on them.

Realistically, we know that Bethesda have been working on TES6 for a lot longer than they've claimed. I mean, dialogue was leaked in 2007 that ended up being part of the main Skyrim story.

I imagine when it comes to the offices there the bottom line is TES. They know themselves, a good TES release funds them for another decade in a way that even a good Fallout release won't.
