I think what I like about Beru is the fact that they started the game right away, generated reads and had an unpopular scum read on Eido - one of which they still don't seem to have let go.

Pinging people who hadn't appeared yet to the thread is one minor thing I like and feel that it comes from town more often than from mafia, even if it's mostly NAI.

Feeling indifferent about the wagon on them while providing vote tallies with their own thoughts about them is something I like a lot. This post for one is pure imo:

While I don't really agree with Beru here I think this is a villagery post.

The explanation as to why Beru didn't ask Gemma to talk about Fonti here is what I like as wolves could go for making Gemma waste time here pretty easily.

This of course only applies if this meta Beru is talking about here is actually accurate. But without knowing the meta I'm inclined to think this comes from a villager.

Like, trying to make me produce content on my own without blindly sheeping them is a good sign in my books. It can come from a wolf but it's enough to not make me want to believe in that world today.

Fwiw, I tend to have blips where I misread her for a short period, but historically my read on fonti has been really on point. It's definitely worse in forum mafia, though.

Anyway, yeah, I don't really think Beru is that kind of insightful as mafia. Find someone else to lynch today, Eido, thanks.

I actually think in the world where Beru is town then my fonti read takes a slight dip because the way she moved onto that wagon honestly felt like she was cheekily getting away with something she didn't feel like she would be able to get away with and obviously that doesn't really make sense in a world where cares about figuring out Beru's alignment.

Just out of curiosity - have you played in a game with fonti where you were town and she was mafia, gemma?
(I don't think on dlp and I don't know what happened offsite)

Because if not than your read there means very little if you just townread her every game for reasons and get insecure inbetween for a while.

My problem is actually scumreading her when she's town. I think I've done it in every forum game we've played together? It was worse before we hydra'd together. Last game I just scumread her briefly before abandoning it when I realized it was because of RL stuff.

I haven't played as town when she's mafia. I've read several of her games unspoiled and watched her on DM and she's been mafia a fair bit throughout and I've only misread her to flip once ever iirc. When she's mafia I tend to run the gamut of thinking that she's mafia but being terrified that I might be wrong and wanting her to be town until she does enough scummy shit that I eventually give in to the read. When she's town I tend to get paranoid and push on her at some point and feel better about her again based on her response.

But um, I'm not really pushing any kind of a meta or proficiency angle here, so I don't think it's super relevant.

I've been looking at Citrus and while I still think he's town there's like... a nagging part of me that wonders if I've been pocketed. @fontisian in the games that you've played with scum Citrus in the past did you like nail him to a wall every time or something?

I'm just going to take my reads of Newcombe and Eido to the bank because if I have to read any more posts along the lines of "Miners degenerating into Fluff" or "wow that play style is so disgusting" then I'm actually going to break something.

Jan's town here I'm pretty sure. Especially with his recent posts. I don't think scum!Jan bothers to gauge Gemma's read on font for himself since he knows her pretty darn well.

Vaimes early Day stuff was pretty town. His hype felt different last game, I don't really know how to explain it without diving into quotes and Im mobile posting.

I will be very sad if Stanari isn't just town here. And besides, I can't logically produce one possible partner for her at this point, so there's also that. Nothing that she's done or said has particularly pinged partnery save for mayyyyyybe tsaiah but that could also just be friendship and besides tsaiah is sick so there's not really a chance of resolving this one until she's better anyways.

We might have different definitions for opportunistic because for my vote to have been opportunistic you would have had to be an easy lynch. Which just was not true given the threadstate at the time.

 

No, that's fine ish. Like, I might have townread him for having a decent read on me, but I'm not bothered by him not having one. Idk, I feel like his read on you was too consistent off what should have been a weaker early read, and his overall tone is kind of stilted. I still liked his response to my vote in the moment, but that doesn't have much weight.

I don't think reading into his tone here is actually alignment indicative due to his absence. And even if it were, well, I don't remember his tone being like this in HP mafia.
