I wouldn't even dare mentioning BvS in the same context as MoS. MoS was probably the best possible Superman we could realistically expect to get from the source material. BvS felt like an awful idea from the start and they delivered exactly what I expected, a turd.

BvS was a train wreck. I never watched it in theaters, but watched it on digital on demand. I regret the 2 bucks I spent to rent it.

The expanded made it coherent and rose it to watchable imo but yeah...It was a bad direction to take period

It wouldn't have been so bad if Jesse Eisenburg wasn't playing Lex Luthor and hadn't tried to channel Heath Ledger or if Batmans reason for sparing Superman wasn't so retarded.

There's actually a small channel called Nando v Movies, which makes just a few changes to movies, that could have improved the whole package. The videos are relatively short (15 min), but they give me new head-canons across-the-board and make me hope for fan-fictions in these versions.

Given the thread here are his DC videos.

First trailers for Shazam! and Aquaman have now dropped.

Aquaman looks like it might be a decent romp. Shazam...I can't decide. Zachary Levi looks really dumb - I mean, it's good that they've finally embraced some bold colours, but on first viewing his body looked like it had been inflated. Didn't look as bad on second viewing, so maybe it'll work.

Funny thing is that he really bulked up that much for his role, yet the costume manage to make it like it's all fake muscles.

While Aquaman could be really decent action film, it's Shazam that in my opinion has the biggest marketing potential. Everyone complains about WB spoiling their big twists, but in this case it may be a right decision. If they decide to use Geoff Johns' reboot and give Shazam powers to the rest of Billy's adopted family, they really should have it in the future trailers. That way the tag line for this film basically writes itself and targets a large variety of young viewers: "Say the magic word. Be a superhero".

Shazam had the Johns' Justice League backups feel to it.

Aquaman looked visually amazing when Atlantis was shown.

Aquaman looks half-decent. I'm still a bit amazed at how much the CGI looks like CGI. That's something that's always bothered me with the DC movies (just look at the Justice League fight scene against superman..., it's so bad). Shazam looks ridiculous, in a good way. I'm wondering how the new direction will take things from now on. Considering these two have been in the work for years (especially Aquaman which must have started filming like what, 3 years ago?), only time will tell if DC is heading in the right direction.

Shazam looks interesting but we probably just saw the best bits there. I agree the DC villains look terrible and the cgi definitely could be done better. Steppenwolf looked like badly formed garbage and Ares looked ticking awful. Compared to Avengers 1? Pls.

Personally, I couldn't care less about Aquaman but I'm really looking forward to Shazam and praying DC doesn't fuck it up. My biggest worry is that they'll underpower him so he doesn't become a threat to Supermans relevancy. Hopefully I'm wrong but we'll see. Love the costume though. Glad it isn't the usual gritty drab leather bullshit. Also, am I the only one who thinks his muscles look fine? The costume and muscles give him more of a natty bodybuilder look rather than the usual cut steroid look that Hollywood tends to pump out.

The costume is fine, imo. It clearly just hasn't been tailored and sculpted with artificial muscle lines.

    I have zero faith.

I still can't get over David Thewlis' mustache on Ares' face.

HAHAHAHAHahahahahaHAHA! I've lost all hope in the DCCU.

It's become a standard chain of events:

    1) The trailer looks decent'ish. I have hope for the movie.
    2) Join the hype train advertising. We're DC Comics! It'll be awesome. Marvel won't know what hit them!
    3) Mediocre to awful film is released.
    4) DC fails yet again, but makes just enough money to make more mediocre to awful films.
    5) But at least we have Wonder Woman!

I didn't think Wonder Woman was all that great tbh. I might has said this before. But Ares was terrible. The entire movie was ruined by that.

Wonder Woman had charm and was comparable to Captain America 1. They introduced the characters reasonable well but both lacked a strong story imho. That doesn't mean that I would ever expect something like CA 2/3 from DC to follow:)

I meant that Wonder Woman was a good moneymaker . I enjoyed it though, but you’re right. Ares was awful

Wonder Woman was good but the ending was weak and they cut her and the DC universe out of alot of possible stories by saying the Gods are dead.

Can't have anyone over shadow superman in terms of power. I'm depressed because we'll never get the alien invasion lead by Braniac.

Yeah, as time has gone by I've been inclined to say that Wonder Woman wasn't so much objectively good as that it didn't have the massive amount of structural suck that plagued the rest of the DCCU. Yeah, the movie would've been way stronger if they left Ares out of it completely (revealing that humans don't need an evil war god to be bastards would've been a nice gut punch), but compared to a mess like BvS, Suicide Squad, or Justice League...
