I'm around for a bit, taking break from work.

Main thing is like. I don't have a slam dunk case on Jari. I think he effectively has to be the wolf here based on no other options, but I open up his ISO to point out /why/ he's the wolf, and I'm struggling to do so.

There's some kind of gross things that I can see tying Miner/Jan together potentially but I'm not talking about those for a lot of reasons.

I think the Jari/Empoof interactions are really, really good - it'd have to be something they set up in wolf chat to have Empoof compare him to his qualifier and try to clear him based on differences that.. frankly kind of exist, is my problem. It's a really organic comparison that I thought was spew-y but I guess it's not.

I thought a lot of what Jari did the first 1-2 days after replacing in was pretty good. Feels a lot like his town play.

There's a part of me that is like [x] Doubt at him being able to play this well as a wolf, given some of his recent wolf performances.

But I really, really don't think it's Vaimes. Guess going through and pulling out posts I think he doesn't/can't make as a wolf is on the docket for today, but a lot of it is hard to really put into words. I've always struggled to /explain/ why Vaimes is town, I'm just good at recognizing it. Like. His town play has a blend of things that is unique to his town play, a mixture of snark and probing and pleasure at figuring something out. As a wolf his posts have a lot more one-dimensional feel to them, and less of that 'blending' and this sounds stupid even as I type it.

The EoD2 from him looks bad, but it looks bad in a way I don't think he'd look as a wolf. Active lurking due to the volatility of some player interactions (mostly Reg/DLGN) is more in line with Vaimes as a villager than a wolf - I think he'd have just helped dunk Beru, because, well, it's w/w, one of them is gonna die, might as well get some credit for it, instead of doing the 'still here but hiding' thing.

There's also the fact that he's kind of been a bit fearless this game, he's come at Reg, come at me, and I don't think he has the balls to do either of those things as a wolf.

    So like. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Vaimes is just town, and that makes Jari a wolf.

Maybe the reason it still doesn't feel right is that it's somehow Smiles, but I've already decided we lose to that world, and it just is so mechanically unlikely to be the case that it's dumb to think about.

But if you want me to lay out some unshakable case on why Jari is a wolf based on his own play, I can't really do that. I can talk about why I'm town, why Vaimes is town, and that he functionally has to be a wolf.

I can talk about how his play the last 2-3 game days makes sense coming from a wolf who needs to not rock the boat, just let town chug away at a few mislynches.

I can talk about how the night kills make a lot of sense coming from him, but I put no real stock in night kill analysis as it's so heavily wine-laden that it's almost irrelevant.

But like, look at how he's even now trying to keep the Vaimes mislynch option open, he's setting his path to victory up for if he can actually get the lynch on me. That's a wolf agenda more than town paranoia.

Like. I don't even have that paranoia.

I'm never lynching Smiles this game, so if the mechanical gambit worked out, gg. I'm very much sold on Von being town here. So the game just ends with Jari.

Sorry, I've been distracted with various odds and ends for the last while, and might be for a few more hours yet. Still have the tab open though.

Eido, I would be interested in posts that make Vaimes town, so I'd be glad if you get to that docket item. Especially ones that got him townread as early as he was in the game.

I don't see how this is fundamentally different from how basically the whole game has been playing?

    It's not, I guess?

But I feel like pretty much everyone else at least has made an effort to figure the game out, and I don't think he has. The M+7 tunnel in particular pinged me even before today as him not actually making any attempt to figure out his alignment, just pushing it.

I want like five independent votes.

    Vote: Eidolonic,

but imagine I'm somehow voting both of you at once, because this is stupid.

    Please don't hammer.

Kind of wish Proph was actually playing so he could use his strat of scoring interactions. It's occurring to me now that it could be useful.

Also I haven't gotten to a single Miner/wolf interaction that hasn't been throwaway yet. I think one difference is Miner's at least somewhat present, compared to Tsaiah, who by now has disappeared. Jan calls Tsaiah falling off a scum pattern but also wants to wait and see. For them I guess Miner's just being Minery so far but I really can't parse whether that's because they don't want to push him as town or what. From posts I can see fonti is going harder on him though, and Newcomb does too.

Miner basically went unvoted for the whole day (exception of one Newcomb vote) and while there might be something in the fact that Kai ended up getting votes eventually but Miner didn't, I think it reminds me more of how scum treat town who are off doing their own thing?
    --- Post automerged ---
This whole game feels so wrong to be a game where Eido is town but I recognize that there's a ton of intervening factors and this is a read it would feel bad to mislynch him with.

I guess what I'm wondering is, is Miner the type that mafia would look bad for pushing when he's town? Because I see glimmers of similarity to someone from my home site. Thanks for pulling the votes.

    Miner/Jari literally had:

    a) a selfvote
    b) said Newcomb vote
    c) nothing else

until today started. Somewhat spooky, somewhat spewed something.
    --- Post automerged ---
I kind of feel like if Miner was town, there were many other targets for mafia to go after on D1 that would have been more appealing? It's kinda Miner being LHF-y and kinda there being even more low-hanging fruit (hi Kai) to pursue.

Then lynch Jari first. I'm having trouble caring too much at this stage as long as you 100% lynch Jari over Vaimes in F3 though.

There's literally no path to victory here if I'm a wolf, you're being paranoid but sort of understandably so.

Like, if it wasn't for the stupid pride factor where I've never been mislynched, I'd just help speedlynch myself so you'd lynch Jari and just end this godforsaken game.

Jan like, actively avoids voting Miner?
Like, what happened between these two posts? It's spiteful but then it's just not spicy.

    Extra lol.

Actually, interesting point on the Miner thing (I may have been avoiding reading that chunk...but probably should). First one particularly. Hm.

Watching a movie with people, but I'll do the Vaimes thing tonight probably.

If you two want me to talk about anything specifically poke me, be it me, Vaimes, or Jari (or something you see in my ISO you want to talk about I guess).

This feels like a very strange post to make to Eido about your partner who Eido is townreading.
    --- Post automerged ---
Like if Miner flipped scum and Tsaiah were unflipped I'd say it was a fairly strong indication of Tsaiah being town?

Stan, what do you make of this bit about Beru? In this post where he's sorting out people he also removes Tsaiah for inactivity.

Trying to figure out what in god's name the plan was on D1 if Eidowolf and...god, it's definitely something, but I can't quite figure out what it would be?

I'm reading, but I gotta say I really appreciate the burst of energy from you.
    --- Post automerged ---
The removing Tsaiah bit, eh, I think is not really significant there. However...the bit about Beru. Instinct reads that scum, logic says I make posts like that too, not sure if it's a context thing but it's...definitely interesting?

Hmm, Jan also has kind of a delay on giving Vaimes a mission in this series of posts.

And this one isn't just reversing TMI, is it?

Might as well point stuff out on other people because I somehow picked the least informative slot to look at people's stuff on first, though perhaps the lack of anything should be telling.
Sociopathic busing or whatever they called it in last year's finals game?
    --- Post automerged ---
Just got to the bit again about where Vaimes is only exactly scum with Eido and got to one of those posts I think people were talking about as nice-feeling. But the reason for them being exactly w/w or v/v is more than just this post, right? Could use the check.

The sequence between Vaimes and Jan is very playful in general, though a lot of Jan's posts are just like that.

But it's not sociopathic bussing, it's hesitant bussing that hesitates its way off the bus[1] and that's a valid tactic too but I don't know what it would be or to what end it would have been done.

[1] this is the whole thing I struggled to describe so don't pay too much attention to the words I used
